    • RE: Q&A - PSLE Math

      Hi MathIzzzFun,

      Hi MathIzzzFun
      Thanks for the prompt reply for the below question: But I need to ask you why we need to do this step. The rest I understand.

      $12 ticket sales / $30 ticket sales = 5/12

      At a concert, tickets were sold at $12, $30 and $50. The sales of $12 tickets made up 25% of the total amount of money collected. The sales of $30 tickets made up 60% of the total amount of money collected. Given that 15 more $12 tickets were sold than the $30 tickets, how many $50 tickets were sold?
      Thanks

      $12 ticket sales / $30 ticket sales = 5/12
      number of $12 tickets x $12 = 5/12 x number of $30 tickets x $30
      number of $12 tickets = 5 x 30 /(12 x 12 ) x number of $30 tickets
      number of $12 tickets = 25/24 x number of $30 tickets

      number of $12 tickets --> 25u
      number of $30 tickets --> 24u
      15 more $12 tickets were sold than $30 tickets
      1u --> 15

      $12 ticket sales = 15 x 25 x $12 = $4500
      $50 ticket sales = $4500 ÷ 5 x 3 = $2700

      number of $50 tickets sold = $2700/$50 = 54

      I need help for the below question. Thanks.

      Last year the ratio of the number of men to the number of ladies in a country club was 2: 3
      This year, 198 new members join the club and there are now five times as many men and twice as many ladies as last year.
      How many members were in the club last year?

      Just to get some advise.

      I have a math tutor who is very friendly and good. After teaching my son for one year. My son result SA1 was 30, and SA2 46.5. There is improvement but still fail.

      1. Should I find another new tutor

      2. continue with this tutor for once a week and find another math tutor for once a week also.

      If two different tutors to teach math. Are there any issues?
