      Hi Parents,

Does any of you enrol your child in EVIS by KRTC? Like to know more before I enrol my child into this program.

      Thanks.

      Hi,

I had posted my comments on this thread. Take a look.

I have seen their programme in my girl’s preschool before. It look’s quite interesting.

Has anyone heard of EVIS program at KRTC? Heard it is a P1 preparatory course for kids from K1 to P1 and they teach english and maths.

I will strongly advise you against sending your child there. The course is conducted by the boss and he is highly irresponsible, always come late. The course has no structure and the children are very often scared by his shouting. He has no patience. Some kids may enjoy if they like to be bribed by junk food.

There is an excellent mathematics teacher in Parkway KRTC. He is an author of many study guides and a dedicated tutor. He helps my child to A* in PSLE.

As I had compared the maths worksheets with my friend’s son at TB branch, I think that the quality is really so so. The tutor may be more of the fun type, a lot of "casual talking" not as serious as some parents may want him to be. Perhaps, for lower primary is still okay but if you are thinking to help your upper primary child to improve then perhaps should look for someone that is more serious in their teahing.

Hi I am new here. I had registered my girl in Phase 2C today. Hopefully she can get a place.

I know that PC standard is quite high. Any one can recommend nay good tuition centres in the area for Maths and English which can match PC standard?

It seems to me that Krtc at different locations actually operate differently. They don't really have standardised materials but all up to the individual teacher.

My friend and I did compare the worksheets before. My boy attended the Maths class in a centre in the East while my friend's son attend in TB. My friend was complaining to me that the material that they charge is very expensive, the amount of workshhets does not justify with the kind of fee.
But for my boy, he received a lot of worksheets for each lesson so much that some of the weaker students may not be able to finish but for the faster one he will defintiely help them to go through them.

My friend had now pull his boy out of the centre, not only because of the material fee issue but of some other issue as well.[/quote

My child is no longer attending maths but during her time there I did consider their material fee high (T.B) but I think the fees are low or justifiable so i saw it as a whole package. I have signed her elsewhere and the fees are really high in comparison.

Why did your child quit the centre then?
I am actually looking for good Englsih tutor, do you have any recommendation?

      Hi.

I am not exactly sure about the workshop either, as all I know is from hearsay from colleagues, etc.

The feedback is rather varying though. Apparently, the workshop uses reverse psychology, and it's not exactly beneficial to all students. Some of my colleagues' kids even came home crying. And not to mention the exorbitant fees charged too.

But it's just a pinch of my opinion.

I also received similar negative feedbacks from some parents. Their kids went through the camp said that they use money making as a driven factor. A lot of banging and throwing things, shouting during the camp including vulgarities.
Some kids may find it very cool and therefore they said they really enjoyed the camp. But personlly I find this kind of teaching actually pollute the young minds.

      Hello to all!

Just a brief intro of myself.

I am a mother of 1 boy and 2 girls.

My eldest is 13, follw by 6 and 4.

This year I will be registering my girl for Primary 1 under Phasee 2C because my first one went to a boy school.

I am finding myself getting into this "stress" again and much more intense this time compare to 6 years ago.

This site is a good place to share with fellow parents some of my stress and also hope to learn form you all.
