    • RE: True Learning Centre

      24hr-mum:
Any feedback on kovan br teacher daisy and teacher doris and teacher rayeswari?

Hi, I think True Learning has posted some emails from their parents with regards to teacher daisy and teacher doris under Latest News in the homepage. They have also put up a number of testimonials under Testimonials. I have extracted some of the content. Hope it helps.

      Dear Ms Angeline
Kudos to Ms Daisy & Mr Gomez
I would like to compliment on these two Great Teachers for their exemplary dedication and efforts in delivering their lessons exquisitely well .....
      Best Regards

      Dear sir/madam,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to Ms Doris Tan. She has taught my daughter, Allycia Koh since she was in P4 and P6. Not forgetting Ms Angeline Teo who taught my daughter in P5 too. They were very dedicated and committed tutors......
      Yours faithfully
      Mrs Koh

    • RE: Superstar Teacher Online tuition

I hope parents give a genuine feedback in this forum.

I had subscribed their P5 maths , I was really impressed by the lessons and questions set. I would give a thumbs up for it, hence I subscribed their PSLE Chinese as well this year. Compared to their Maths programme, I felt very disappointed with their Chinese programme.

Compared to the duration (avg 1h-1.5h per lesson), content and standard of material in EACH lesson of Maths is well planned and value for money.

But the duration for each lesson for PSLE Chinese is merely only avg about 30 min. Each lesson only covers EITHER a comprehension OE or MCQ questions which I found the content is lesser than what I expected for ONE lesson which I felt it is not worth subscribing. If your child is doing HCL, this is too easy.

If I had a choice now, I would not subscribe their Chinese unless they improve and add on the content of each lesson.

**Their PSLE Maths/ Science durations and questions sets for each lessons also reduced/ shorter compared to p5. Don't expect like what you get for p5, although you pay the same price for both levels.

Hi, I think the traditional way of teaching and learning is still the way to go. Besides, schools are already subscribing to some online learning portals which are integrated into the school curriculum.
For the most value for money tuition centres in Singapore, I came across this blog that recommended three such centres.

    • RE: True Learning Centre

      Hi,

Can anyone share some feedback from True Learning Centre for English for Primary 3? Thanks.

Hi, I recommended a friend who sent her P3 dd to True Learning Centre for English in Kovan this year. According to my friend, the class size was kept at 6 and her dd has enjoyed the lessons. You may wish to give the centre a call if you are keen to enrol in their classes. So far there are quite a number of good reviews about this centre in this forum as well as other forums.

      Belle:

Hi, i am interested to find out more as I face the same position as you. I have tried to tuition schools for my gal but yet there was not much improvement. Care to share with me which tuition centre you have put your daughters to? Thanks a lot!
Hi, I read some very good reviews about True Learning Centre in this forum. The tutors are all very experience and dedicated. They have a branch in Jurong and is opening another one in Kovan. You may check out this KS forum or their website if you are interested.

Hi, besides Han Language Centre, are there any good Chinese Language centre in the West? I am looking for tutors who are current or ex school teachers.

    • RE: Aristocare

I thought all the false claims made by him have been removed? But they could still be found in other websites such as these:

      http://www.streetdirectory.com/classifieds/singapore/lesson_and_instruction/children_enrichment_programmes/gifted_education_program_by_kelvin_ong

      http://sg.88db.com/q-%22Gifted+Education+Programme%22/1/

Shouldn't he remove the false information from all these websites as well.

One lesson I have learnt from this episode: Always verify the qualifications of the tutor by insisting to see documentary proofs before enrolling into the programme.

Who knows.. maybe Kelvin Ong is just one of the unlucky ones being caught.

      Original Title: Illegible Handwritting

      Hi,

      I'm very headache with my P6 girl's handwritting. 😢

No matter how I advise her or scold her and even her teacher also told her to write more neatly, but she still cannot changes her bad habbit.

Hope someone has the same experience and has good solution for this. :?:

      Thanks

      fxchow
I have a similar problem with my boy. Besides writing illegibly, his teacher complains that he doesn't present his math working fully; like to skip steps.
I have told him many times about the importance of presenting the working completely but he would say that he still gets the answers.
      Any advice on that?
