      Hi pinkamom,

May I know if you son is still on the special diet ? You have really did a lot in the past and thatโ€™s why your son is able to achieve to this stage. May I know how does the cranial sacral helps our ASD kids? Is he still on the neurofeedback thing? Is it time consuming?

      Hi Chibi,

Thanks for your sharing! Its so heartwarming and encouraging to know that your girl is doing so well in school. I wish my daughter can be like your daughter too!

I believe you must have put in a lot of time and efforts in your daughter!! :salute:
Just wondering if she is Asperger or ASD or PDD NOS? Cos I read that usually Asperger can survive in mainstream but its harder for ASD cos their language are not as strong as Asperger?

I also find that teaching my girl mandarin is hard especially getting her to write the Chinese characters (her strokes are simply not systematic, she insisted so long she can get the word correct why bothers on the strokes) properly

      Hi Chibi,

Thanks you for your feedback. In this case I'll ask the KKH CDU doc not to discharge my girl too.
I thought it's a norm to be discharged by KKH once the kid reaches 7 ๐Ÿ˜“

It's so touching and comforting that knowing your girl is at pri 5 mainstream! I'm pretty sure your girl is doing pretty well.
Got such a dedicated mum revising and solving maths problem sums with her ๐Ÿ˜„
Is mainstream academic and social tough for our ASD kids ?

Just want to check with mummies here. If the kid reaches 7 years old, does that means that KKH CDU will automatically discharge the kid?

Cos I believe this coming appointment with KKH CDU will probably marks the last appointment as she is of 7 years old now.

What is the next course of action then? The kid will be referred to IMH (did I get it correct) ? Just wondering which is better? KKH CDU or IMH? :scratchhead:

Can anyone recommend a psychologist and the price for IQ test , as well as autism assessment?

Another question, is it true that once a child is diagnosed by KKH as ASD, even if the subsequent re assessment shows that the kid may no be longer on the spectrum, KKH will not remove the ASD label on the child?

      Hi fluttershy,

Before she entered her nursery, she would come to us when she need something. She donโ€™t invite us to play with her. If she needs help, she would drag me there or if the object is reachable, she would bring the object to me and then place it in front for me. Subsequently it depends on me to figure out what she wants as she was preverbal at that time. She was more on echolalia when she tried to talk.

At that time, I occasionally noticed her running round in circles herself laughing silly at home. She was also scared of sudden loud sound (flushing toilet, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, hand dryer etc) and and certain TV commercial. She exhibits poor motor skills. She could not stand anything on her head (hat, tie up her hair, hair band etc). She would pick up anything on the floor and put into her mouth.

When she was young, her pointing was inconsistent too. During that time, she also played with saliva and spread it over her hands, face and legs etc. She did not really play much with toys at that time, even if she played, she usually played repeatedly with just a few toys despite the large variety of toys around her. She mostly played with her colour pencils instead, lining them up in straight line.

Till now her eye contact is still inconsistent.
