    • RE: 🛑 Parents, are you still marking PSLE English on /55 marks? (Critical 2026 Update)

      Screenshot 2026-03-04 222222.png
      Hi fellow parents,
I wanted to highlight a “silent killer” in the new SEAB 2026 English Syllabus (Subject Code 0001) that many of us might be missing.

We know the paper weighting has dropped from 55 to 50 marks , but the real danger isn’t the lost 5 marks—it’s the “Tone Trap” in Situational Writing.

Under the new 14-mark format, students can get all 6 content points correct but still score an AL 4 equivalent. Why? Because if they use the wrong Purpose, Audience, or Context (PAC)—like writing “Hi Mr. Tan” instead of “Dear Mr. Tan”—they get heavily penalized for Tone.

I’ve put together a short audio guide that breaks down exactly how to spot this “Tone Trap” and the new “Inference” requirement. It’s a quick listen for the commute:

🎧 Listen to the Guide Here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/41fVTq7LEPfBD7K43vIeJ6

For those who want to test their child’s actual essay:
I have also built an AI tool that acts as a strict “Senior HOD” to mark essays based on this new 2026 rubric. It checks for the “Inference Point” and Tone issues automatically.

You can try a Free Diagnostic (no credit card needed) via Telegram here: https://t.me/PSLE_Marker_Pro_Bot

      Hope this saves some marks!

    • ChatGPT vs. Real Tutors for marking Compo?

Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts on this!

I used to try using ChatGPT to mark my son’s English compositions, but it was too “nice” and didn’t follow the strict Singapore MOE rubrics. It kept giving him high praises even when he missed the Situational Writing points.

Recently, I stumbled upon a localized AI tool on Telegram (PSLE Marker Pro) that acts like a strict Senior HOD. It actually checks for the new 2026 “Inference Trap” and deducts marks if the story goes off-topic (which my son loves to do lol).

I’m amazed at how accurate the PDF reports are compared to his actual school teacher’s feedback. Do you guys think AI will eventually replace composition marking for private tutors? Or is the human touch still needed?

(I have a few free beta test credits for the bot if anyone wants to compare it against their current tutor’s marking. Just drop a comment!)

🚨 Prepping for the 2026 PSLE English changes?

Paper 1 is now graded out of 50 marks with stricter “Inference” rules. To help navigate this, I’ve developed PSLE Marker Pro—an AI tool that gives syllabus-aligned feedback and specific “From X to Y” vocab upgrades for your child’s essays.

I’m doing a private trial for a small group of parents. Here is how to claim your free credit:

    • RE: All About English Creative Writing

Hi fellow parents, just wanted to share something I found out recently while prepping my kid for PSLE.

For those with kids taking PSLE in 2026 or later, MOE/SEAB has adjusted the Paper 1 weighting. It’s actually 50 marks now (used to be 55). The old “15/40” split for Situational/Continuous writing is now 14/36.

The tricky part is Situational Writing (14m). It seems they are getting stricter on the “Inference” point—meaning kids can’t just lift the answer from the poster anymore; they have to come up with their own idea based on the visual. If they miss that, they lose content marks instantly.

I’ve been testing a new AI tool that specifically marks based on this new 2026 rubric (checks for the inference point and tone). It’s quite useful to see if your kid is still writing the “old way.”

The developer is letting parents try it for free right now to test the system. You can just upload a photo of an old essay to check.

1 Link here if anyone wants to stress-test their kid’s writing: https://t.me/PSLE_Marker_Pro_Bot
2 Tap “Start” and click the consent button.
3 The bot will generate a Parent ID for you (e.g., 12345678).
4 Simply email ml1978acc@gmail.com with that ID and try it once for free.

Hope this helps anyone else confused by the new format!

    • An Invitation to Support Your Child’s PSLE English Prep (Free Trial)

      Dear Parents,

As we prepare our children for the upcoming PSLE changes, I wanted to share a resource that can help bring clarity and confidence to their writing revision.

With the shift to the 2026 English Syllabus (Subject Code 0001), the marking structure for Paper 1 has been updated to 50 marks. There is also a greater emphasis on “Inference” in Situational Writing—encouraging students to generate their own unique ideas rather than just using the text provided.

To help you navigate these changes, I have developed PSLE Marker Pro, an AI companion designed to provide detailed, syllabus-aligned feedback. It acts like a supportive HOD, offering specific “From X to Y” vocabulary suggestions to elevate your child’s writing instantly.

🎁 I would love to gift you a Complimentary Diagnostic Report (Worth $15).

I am personally onboarding a small group of parents to try this out. Since this is a private trial, I will need to manually add the credit to your account.

Here is how to get started:

1 Open the Telegram Bot here: https://t.me/PSLE_Marker_Pro_Bot
      2. Tap “Start” and click the consent button.
3 The bot will generate a Parent ID for you (e.g., 12345678).
4 Simply email ml1978acc@gmail.com with that ID.

Once I receive your ID, I will add the credit to your account so you can upload an essay and see the feedback firsthand.

      Here’s to your child’s success!

      regards,

    • 🛑 Parents, are you still marking PSLE English on /55 marks? (Critical 2026 Update)

If your child is taking the PSLE in 2026 or later, please take note: The Paper 1 weighting has been officially reduced to 50 Marks. The old “15/40” grading curve used by many assessment books is now obsolete.

Two “Silent Killers” in the new format: 1️⃣ The “Tone Trap” (Situational Writing): Even if your child gets all 6 content points right, they can still fail this section. Why? If they use the wrong Tone (e.g., writing “Hi Mr Tan” in a formal email), they lose major Language marks. 2️⃣ The “Inference Trap”: Students can no longer just “lift” answers from the text. They must provide an “Own Idea”.

Don’t rely on guesswork. I have built PSLE Marker Pro, an AI tool calibrated strictly to the new 2026 Syllabus (Code 0001).

✅ Strict Scoring: We mark on the official 14/36 split.
✅ Tone & Inference Detector: We spot if your child missed the “Own Idea” or used the wrong register.
✅ “From X to Y” Feedback: We give specific vocab swaps (e.g., “Change ‘sad’ to ‘despondent’”).

SEEKING 10 BETA TESTERS: I am offering a FREE Diagnostic Report (worth $15) to the first 10 parents who want to stress-test their child’s essay against the new rubric.

👉 10 Beta Spots Left. 👇 email me at ml1978acc@gmail.com for a free strict diagnostic!
(No credit card required. Just upload a photo of the essay.)
