      Hi,

My girl is 5 years old this year. Thought I would join one of the clubs at KSP for some sharing and bonding. My 5 year old is not adapting that well to Singaporean education. Too outspoken.

      u r not fr Sg :?

Yes I am but we were in France with hubby for his work for 2 years so my kids went to international school there. Now my dd who is 5 is used to that style of learning, I am wondering how I can help her.

It was just a mere 2 years but maybe it was her formative 2 years. My older boy
has no problem adjusting back in Singapore.

I find the assessment book questions do not adequately prepare the kids for exams. Questions seem a little too easy compared to their exam papers. Anyone here can

recommend assessment books that have questions that are a little trickier?

My girl used to be in their K2P1 class for a very short while before she had ballet lessons that clashed. She will joining their P1/2 class this year end. Her class was on tuesday. So I think they still should have K2/P1 class on tuesday at 5 pm. If you cannot get them on the phone, you can sms them on one of their lines. That is what I do when I want to discuss my son’s make up lessons.

      UncleLim:
Hi everyone. Investing or \"trading\" in gold is like any other investment. Prices go up and prices go down. If you are in it for a small return, just above what the banks can give you, I guess it is ok. If you want to make a fortune, it is better to join investment forums whether the more professional trading instruments are discussed. Just remember that the greater returns require greater risks. Nobody wins all the time.

What are some of these investment forums that are good? I am interested to know more about gold. Heard from friends it is a good investment but still feel a little doubtful.

    • RE: Q&A - P4 Science

Yes, I think answering with the right keywords are important. what you can do is to buy the good school papers and look at the answer key and see how they answer.

You can also get the PSLE question booklet and look at the answers for the section B part. It would help you to know what are the keywords needed. It is good not to go too in-depth for kids as they might get confused. However, you could let them explore the topic in-depth during the holidays so that their natural curiosity to learn is not dampened.

      Hi parents,

Anyone knows the timing for the Grammar Rocks program, the TAS community service one? I lost the letter that TAS gave out. My kids have been bugging me to send them for the program and I only remember that they have one on friday but forgot the timing.
      Hi wywy2,

I brought my kids for the Saturday programme at Singapore Post and it was very good. They brought back files with grammar notes and worksheets in them. And when they were doing some grammar practices I gave them, they could identify some of the rules they learnt. They would also get prizes if they do well and so they have been revising their work. Hence, I find the prog very beneficial.

Anyway, from the letter that they gave- there are 3 timings:

      - friday: 4.30 pm - 7 pm (ang mo kio)
      - saturday: 2-4 pm (singapore post centre)
      - saturday: 5- 7 pm (singapore post centre)

They also stated that if there are at least 12 sign ups, they will start a sunday class from 3-5 pm.

You can call TAS to register or call this number 81184902.

Hi MLJ and hquek, can you share which centres your kids are with? I'm wondering if it's the TAS culture? Or are both of you lucky to have the good teachers 🙂 ? Thanks.

      Hi csb,

I am at AMK branch but for one month, we sent our boy to the Bukit Timah branch as he had extra music classes that clashed with his classes at Ang Mo Kio. And I found that the teacher at Bukit Timah was also the same way so it seems to be a culture there. I know in their trainings (from what the teacher told me), they also emphasize on the kind of attitude they should have in teaching and how it is important to work with parents etc.

One of my friend also has her son under another teacher at AMK and so far feedback from here is also that the teacher will also explain the son's weak and strong points and when the son was quite weak in the beginning, they even got him to come earlier so the teacher could teach him more.
