Hi all

Sorry for the confusion caused. Looks like there are gep classes afterall. Dd ex classmates were all 'transferred' to 109 to 113.

Thanks for clarifying. Could it be that these girls were admitted under S1 Central Posting rather than DSA?

Mostly thru DSA. A few thru S1.

Better ask again yr dd again, very interesting case here.
Just checked w dd. She is quite certain of that. 102 n 106 have quite a number.
Anyway the whole cohort should be sbge so shouldn’t matters much?
Could they gained entry via PSLE instead of via DSA?
Hi
I m new here. My dd is in yr 1 now. According to her, there is no such thing as gep class. All her ex gep classmate were scattered across the level.

Oh, I didn't know that. Although dd is in 109, some of her ex gep classmate from P6 are in 102, 106 etc.
      :?

May be for clarity yr dd can tell us her ex gep classmates are from which ge school?

St Hilda's Pri. Some thro psle, most thru DSA.

The GEP classes are 109 to 113. The COP for mainstreamers to get into GEP classes is 273 this year. This information is from a teacher to the students in a GEP class.
I know some GEP centres like Nanhua have mainstreamers in GEP classes. nanhua calls them TAG classes. So are these ex classmates really from GEP?
Hi

Can anyone tell me what good is the raffles diploma?
If a student receive a RD w credit but did poorly in GCE A level, will local U still honor the RD and admit him/her based solely on the RD?

      Appreciates any reply.

      Thks

local u's admission criteria is based on A level grades. RD not useable

RD is based on consistent performance. it will be unusual for someone with a good RD to do badly in A level - may be like the olympics women badminton - purposely lose the game

more likely that someone does not get a good RD, wake up last minute and chiong A level and still made it with good grades

a good RD is well received by good unis overseas

      Thanks!
That was really helpful. It will help in some way in choosing of secondary school for our DD.
