      Why :frustrated: now?

Wait for further anoucement from MOE.
There may be changes to the different phases, on additional criteria to qualify for earlier phases, even areas to be changed to align to electoral boundaries.....

I think we should push for schools/MOE to provide more information regarding the registrations at all phases, i.e. breakdown of SC/PRs, no of applicants in the 3 home/school distance category so as to minimise the balloting situation. I think most parents will make a wise decision to avoid balloting if given the necessary information upfront.

I give kudos to those schools who turn parents away if they expect overwhelming responses...

I agree with you that MOE should publish the vacancies breakdown according to <1km, 1 - 2 km and >2km for SC or PR who registered. It was a tedious process for parents like me to keep track and made the swift move to register in a relatively good school that requires no balloting. MOE should seriously consider implementing updating all primary schools' websites with the latest statistic figures. Otherwise the poor admin has to answer high volume of calls.

Much had been said about the registration phases which gave advantage to children who qualify for earlier phases over the years.

Besides looking seriously into tweaking the P1 registration phases, MOE should also include a Singapore map in its website under \"Primary Schools Vacancies by Phases\" cut up according to areas per their list to help parents identify schools near their homes in other areas. Meanwhile unlucky parents who would enter P2CS may want to go to One Map.

      http://www.onemap.sg/index.html

Click on Maps icon on the top left corner, go to either URA Landed Housing Areas Plan or URA Street Block Plans for a pictorial look of where the remaining schools were located. Good Luck!

Btw I'm surprised CHIJ Kellock has places for P2CS..... maybe some parents prefer new sch - Alexandra Pri Sch.

Definitely a case of trying too hard on the part of some people.

As you had mentioned it would have been written by a grandma in the USA. To me, it is a recollection of her times (grandma possible to have memory lapse, I won't discount that when I become a grandma) and how the world had changed.

Whether penicillin, television, FM radio broadcasts, electric typewriters and ball-point pens had reached this grandma where she lives, I can't answer for her.

Just curious - what was your point in posting this story? I really can't get the relation to the discussion up to that point.

Isn't the reply a simple one?

I replied on concern2 calling children being deposited in a holding room and a caravan bringing them to a ulu childcare an exaggeration.

My take is it may not be that far-fetched as this grandma story shows how the world changes over a short time span.

Recalled the Minister suggesting old folks home for our people to be housed across the causeway, I feel the tongue-in-cheek suggestion should not be dismissed as impossible.

This grandma also knows how to pull a fast one. As far as I can tell, penicillin, television, FM radio broadcasts, electric typewriters and ball-point pens were all commercially available before 1952. No wonder sometimes the young don't believe us. :skeptical:

      A case of
      Lost in translation?
      Overly polished?
      Trying too hard?
      Self righteousness?

      Or, all of the above?

Some grandma got memory lapse? 🤷 maybe she was born in 1932?

Maybe some of you can help me with a strange whatever in my system.

There's a 'coughing sound' hidden in my system.

This sound will appear very randomly.

Sometimes a few hours it sounds and sometimes can be a few days.

I tried to scan for this whatever and never successful.

How to erase this huh other than reformatting my whole system?

      PS:
Can be sometimes quite startling at night when I work half way then this matured man 'cough! cough' comes along. My friend was joking with me \"Are you sure the sound is from your system?\"
You very spiritual, generous with analysis and giving advices. Maybe someone from another realm needs your help and trying to connect with you? :nailbite: :siam:
