    • RE: Investment

Actually, a simple way to invest - if you have a long term horizon (as in 20 years+), is to buy a low cost index fund - E.g. S&P 500.

It is passive, and has a track record of providing returns of average 8% a year.

Yup, my baby not only stretch but also jerk alot under the swaddle. I was worried in the beginning, but it really is just a passing phase. So nothing to worry about 🙂

Yup I agree, apply to more JCs. It’s good to have more options, you never know which school will accept your application!

    • RE: Teaching Reading to Kids

I think it is okay to speak in colloquial english w/o any accent. Singlish is okay for adults, between adults. But when speaking to a young child, I would generally speak in proper english (w/o any special accent). This I feel can give the child a better impression of what the language entails, and when they grow older, they will be able to code switch between proper english and singlish.

    • RE: Bedroom Issue

From a guys perspective… There are a few reasons a man has little desire for sex with wife.

      1. Health issues. Being overweight decreases sex drive.
      2. Mental issues. There is a problem with the r/s. Either he is seeing someone else, and gets his needs fulfilled elsewhere, or that there is an issue with your r.s with him.
      3. He dont find wife attractive anymore.

Have a good chat. If he is still fulfilling his own needs on his own, then maybe there is some issue going on with the r/s/

    • RE: How do you control your child's Computer time

I believe open communication is very important. I remembered as a child, my mum would keep my keyboard / mouse so that I cannot play. But I either find out where she hide them, or save up and buy a new mouse/keyboard. And I will not play when she is at home, but play whenever she is out.

So I feel it is important to have that communication so that your child will now hide his playtime from you.

    • RE: Where to seek Marital Help

I agree, but in the end, the couple themselves have to take that first step and be willing to go for counselling. Some may see it as a stigma and not want to go for it. And it is pointless if only one party wants to accept help. I do know of some who do not believe that their personal affair should be made public. They feel that it should be handled within just the 2 of them…

    • RE: Zaobao forum : Request for SEAB and MOE to listen to the parents frustration for PSLE math.

It’s so sad. I feel that kids these days are under soo much more stress.

But I do believe that algebra method is accepted as long as it is properly presented. My niece also uses algebra method taught from tuition.
