    • RE: Lower Secondary Science

My kid is in Sec 1 Express this year. Is the information in the textbook sufficient? Is Science guide book necessary for secondary school?

I am thinking to choose 1 among the following.
      1) Comprehensive Science Guide A & B, by Wisemann (1 book)
      2) Lower Secondary Science Understanding Biology, Chemistry & Physics, by GLM (3books)
      3) Lower Secondary Science Volume A & B, by Smashing Exams (2 books)

Which one is better? Hope to get some advice. Thank you.

    • RE: Travel: Thailand - Bangkok

I am planning to bring my kids to Bangkok for 1week in June. I am planning to go Chatuchak Market, Maeklong Railway Market, Amphawa Floating Market and Siam Safari. Has any parents brought the kids there? Is the itinerary too adventurous for 8 and 10yrs old kids? Any recommendation for places to visit in Bangkok? Any recommendation for reliable driver?

    • RE: Happy Call Korean Frying Pan

      Hi,

Can mummies please give some feedback about the HappyCall Diamond wok /pan?

Is it really non-stick? Does the glass lid really provide over-flowing? Does oil really don’t spill when we fry fish? Can metal ladle be used?
      Thank you.

      Hi beariecrystal3,

Hatten has Junior Suite and Deluxe Suite. The name difference is just sea-facing or pool-facing.
Then there is another higher "class" called Premier. Premier Junior and Premier Deluxe are located on the higher floor, compared to the Junior and Deluxe. Guests who stayed at Premier get to check-in at Level 12 Premier Lounge and also choose breakfast at the Chatterz or Alto Sky Lounge.

Personally I have stayed in both Deluxe Suite and Premier Deluxe Suite. I find no difference in the room apart from the check-in and breakfast.

      Hello everyone!

I am a newbie. What do you think of this school? I heard that there is a student care centre in this school too? Anyone has enrolled their child in it?
      Hi Faithly,
My DS is currently in P3 of TPS. I will be enrolling my DD in the same sch in few mths time. I think the sch put more emphasis on character building and joyful learning proces. DS always look forward to sch opening during the sch holiday.

The student care has just started in April.

    • RE: Travel: Taiwan - Taipei

      ScaredyMum:
I just came back from a 5D4N trip to Taipei 2 weeks ago so hope this may help 🙂

Day 1 - arrived evening (Ximending dinner/shop) back to hotel (CityInn Plus near Ximending)
Day 2 - engaged a local taxi driver who drove us to 野柳,基隆,九份,黃金瀑布,鼻頭角,南雅,陰陽海,十分,青桐
Day 3 - Taipei Zoo / Maokong 貓空gondola / Shilin Night Market
Day 4 - Taipei Main Station Underground Mall / Wu Fen Pu / Shida Night Market
Day 5 - Danshui Old street / See Sunset by the river / Flight back to SG
      Hi ScaredyMum,
May I know how much did you pay for the driver that you engage for Day 2? How many person travel together? Would you recommend your driver?

We have 4adults and 4kids travelling in Nov, but I could not find a driver whose vehicle is big enough for us.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    • RE: Travel: Thailand - Phuket

      Hi,

I am going to Phuket for 4days during the June holiday with hubby and 2 kids (age 8 and 6). I am planning to stay in a hotel around Karon or Patong area. How should I make my way to the hotel? Is it safe to just get a cab from the Phuket airport? How much will it be roughly?

For Day 2 and 3, I am planning for elephant trekking and boat trip (maybe to PhiPhi island). Do I have to engage a driver for 2days to drive us around? Or can I just ask get their local tour to pick us? Any recommendation for driver or tour agency? Is there any other activities that I must not miss? Will there be night market on the weekday?

      Thank you.
