I am thinking of enrolling my DS who is going P2 next year, with Hans at Tampines North CC. Is Han’s method like Jiang LaoShi or Berries? Can any parent share her experience about the teachers?

RE: Travel: China - Hong Kong
Hi,
Can any parent share with us whether Lantau Island is suitable for family with young children? I am planning to go HK in Nov with my 2 kids (4yr & 6yr).
Has anyone been there with little kids in tow? Is the place stroller-friendly? Where do I go to catch the skyrail? Where would be a decent place for the kids to have lunch? Is it possible to include Cheung Chau Island on the same day as well?
Thank you. -
RE: [Tampines] Primary Schools
Hi,
Is there any websites whereby I can find the listing of student-care centres around Tampines Pri/Chongzheng Pri area? What is the charges like?
Does it provide some guidance on the children’s school work? Can the children bring additional assessment books to do in the student-care or will the student-care issue some assessment books for the children to do there? -
RE: Travel: Malaysia - Malacca
Otah:
Any food recommendation for nonya restaurant in Malacca? TIA.
Hi Otah,
I just returned from Malacca.
If you are there with small family of 3-5pax, I highly recommended (1)Nancy Kitchen (located @ Jonker Street) as their serving is small and thus you can order more variety. Do remember to try their nonya kuih as they are really fantastic.
I think (2)Makko is also quite popular. I had wanted to try Makko, but it was already full-house when I reach at 6pm. So end up we went to (3)Ole Sayang. I find Ole Sayang's serving is bigger compared to Nancy Kitchen. Food is also yummy. -
RE: Tampines Primary
Hi Sim,
Sorry, I do not know if there will be exam for P2 students or any higher Chinese available in TPS.
But I must really thanks TPS for changing my DS (from someone who don’t touch books at all) to someone who enjoy reading in a short span of time. Now, my DS can spend an hour or more reading quietly on his own after dinner, instead of playing or watching TV. -

Hi Sim,Hi,
I am interested to know more about this school. Anyone can tell me the actual class-size. So, other than Tues most of the school hours will be from 8am-1:30pm? Thanks!
I shall speak based on what I know for Pri 1 as my DS is in Pri 1. The class size is 30 students.
The day start at 7.40am to 1.30pm on all days except for Tues till 3pm. Recess is 30mins. For Pri 1 & 2 is 10.30am-11am and additional lunch from 1pm-1.30pm on Tuesday.
For those weaker students, the remedical class is held on Thursday 2pm-4pm.
For those students who opt to join CCA, the CCA for Pri & 2 is on Friday. -
RE: Travel: Malaysia - Malacca
I will be going to Malacca on a weekday during the school holiday. Can anyone advise whether Jonker Street night market will be open? I see from some websites that it is opened only on Fri, Sat and Sunday night. If it is not opened on weekday, what and where can we go in Malacca?

RE: All About Full-Time Maids
Her new employer wants her ASAP. Do I hv the right to insist on releasing her at end of contract? Will they be able to transfer her out of my employment without my knowledge or any excuse that I hv to watch out?

RE: All About Full-Time Maids
I will be ending contract with my Filipino maid in Jun. But she is requesting for early release n transfer to another employer.
Can anyone advise if my liability ends once her work permit is transferred? I understand she has a 3 months probation period with her new employer. If she cannot passed the probation period, will I be liable for sending her home? -
RE: All About Preparing For Primary One
Hi, my DS has just started P1. I am thinking of bringing him for a short trip during the CNY week. Meaning that he would have to miss 3 days of lesson. Can parent advise if you will allow your DS/DD to miss 3 days of lesson and whether the school will allow this?
Thank you.
