Sorry for asking such a stupid question.
I was under the impression that the top 10percent of marks will be Astar. Am I wrong?
My son took PSLE in 2013, he scored A* for MAths and English and he was the top 10%. If the child's result is the top 10%, he would be offered to take Japanese, French and etc .

Thanks for your encouragement to me always. Appreciate it.

I am just glad PSLE is over. Can focus on other things, like tidying up the house where there are papers all around. About secondary school subjects, about how to spend these 3 months where cannot travel overseas.

Ya, all sure those students who say easy is from?
      TOP class for Math.

      😂😂😂 Yeah, top in math.
Everyone in this forum says easy until a friend (son taking psle next year) exclaimed “wahh this year cohort henggg ah, all so easy. Read online forum all say easy chicken feet. Next year my turn confirm super tough.”

I was like (rolling eyes), Yup this year all student will get a place in IP school because papers too easy.[/quote]I have 6 of p6 students this year. Those barely pass Maths in school prelim paper told me paper 1 was ok and paper 2 was tough. Those got 80 plus for school prelim paper told me paper 1 was easy, paper 2 was manageable with few more thinking questions. I saw the video posted for few of 2020 PSLE Maths questions and i agreed that there were few questions required more thinking. The number of students got A*, A and so on is fixed based on the number of this cohort so not to worry not all students go IP this year.

Most importantly is that i told my students try to do as many questions correct as possible if they know how to do the questions. From my past few years of experience, all my students PSLE results is very close to their Prelim results unless the student has panic attack. 😓

      Hi,

My dd has done well such that he is able to opt for HCI. I'm happy for him but I'm worried about the journey to and fro school every day for the next 6 years. We are staying in Jurong West and he can also choose RV which is so much nearer. However he is so firm on his decision. I told him the pros and cons and he needs to learn to be responsible for his own decisions.

But still I am worried if he is able to cope with more subjects, long travel time and a fiercely competitive environment compared to his primary school.

Parents, do you have any advice or stories to share. Thanks 🙂

Let him choose his dream school. He works so hard for it. If you force him to choose RV, he will blame you if he is not happy in the school.

Btw, did you travel with him from your house to HCI and get him to feel it physically?
Not forgetting if the scenario is having a heavy school bag or sometimes raining days for the next 6 years.

hi all, i am new to this website and i would appreciate your answers .i scored 247 and i am having a hard time deciding between Nan Chiau High (COP 2018: 244) and Maris Stella (COP 2018 :237). Both are SAP schools. I like Maris stella's programmes but i feel Nan Chiau high would push me academically. Distance isn't a problem for me.Which one should i put as my first choice?TIA
      I have PMed you.

Should I put 1 or 2 sch as a safety net among the 6 choices ??? I I put 1 Safety choice which is 10 point lower or I should put another choice which is more than 10 point lower than tscore.

      Very headache
Your 5th and 6th choice must be the schools that your child's score is 10 points more because if your child did not get into the first 4 choices, he must get into the 5th or 6th choice of school.
