no honeybeel, u r not kiasu coz all parents

would want the best for their kids so they
would do all they can to put their kids to
school of choice. i support u for that.

i only know KPS (kranji pri) Pri 1 + 2
don't need to wear uniform. they r
dressed in PE attire.
I met up with the principal Sam Wong some time ago. He is the only principal who presonally receive me when I visited the few schools in CCK area. He is a very nice person who run the school well. I have a good impression of their Open House too. The school is very well managed for its sports activities. They seems to focus their ECA effort on sports. Their team won a lot of regional and national level competitions.

Only worry is whether the principal will stay as his term seems to be up soon. Not sure what is the impact to the school after he leaves. As I thought the school was better under his charge.

<afternote> I spoke to a parent last nite and the person mentioned that the principal has changed lately. But the website still shows that it is Sam Wong. The good news is that the common consensus is that the new principal is better.

hi stnerap,

u also went for balloting at dls?
No, i did not attend the balloting session as it is too pressurizing. Guess it will not make any difference to the chance. Congrats to all who have gotten the desired results.
FYI, the last name being called out are twin, so the total intake in DLS is 104. The father (i mean the twin) was so happy & of course i also happy lah!.

Waiting for Honeybeel now

I get ballot-out... 😢

But my girl being so optimistic...SHe told me that it will be good if can get in Yew Tee, but she still can make new friends in other school...
She being so positive, I must also \"jiao you\" šŸ˜„
Will go registered in Kranji this coming friday.

Dear Honeybeel:
It sad to hear that. But don worry is not the end of the world. U must be thankful as you have such a good girl. My son will never say this kind of things, he is too playful. All the best to you and may God bless u
Honeybeel,
Can put yourself on waiting list for DLS too. For YT, all that are ballot-out are automatically put in wait list. Which they will do another round of ballot to determine the order.

For DLS, the \"famous\" lady told me that the order is decided by the principal and vice-principal after much much prompting. In a tone which all of us are used to. Give up on her and someone should tell the principal to read this forum on our comments on her.

Latest news:
w/n 1km
YT 139
DLS 119

wow!! so difficult to predict. The second half will be more ken cheong.
How about Unity?
The odds for the two schools are DLS - 85.7% & YT - 84.1%. Predict both will slide down to 78% but think DLS will be the winner with better odds.

Anna Ng:
I also don know why Unity & YT cut the intake, i think the only reason is MOE want to promote Kranji PS which is not so popular in that area. If u recall of the economic theory, Gov always tax the rich to give the poor so that the gap is not getting wider. But why can't MOE cut the intake of Kranji PS? the reason is, have to fully or at least 50% more to utilize the place. I heard Kranji PS quite big. Not sure whether is correct or not, I anyhow one lah šŸ˜›

Think they cut down because wanted to move to single session for all schools. All this balloting arises is not actually because of YT & Unity are superior schools. It is just purely because not one want to go to Kranji. If Kranji is in the same league as YT & Unity, this forum won't be so hot already.

Think all activities stop for Unity. The rest will be deciding between YT and DLS.
hmmm....i may think those who registered at YT is overflow fm unity coz
most of ppl stay w/n 1km between these 2 schools. so mebbe ppl will withdraw out fm YT to try unity tomm....
doubt so cos YT somehow this year become the 'hot' school. I tend to believe they will continue their 'hot' streak. Another predication for Unity is 92 ... 2 more cases but not withdraw from YT.

Anyway not much difference between Unity & YT. The only difference is distance. If I still nearer to Unity, I will sure register for Unity since eventually the chance is going to be better. I think those near to Unity initially tot YT to be safer bet. Alot are overflow when they saw Unity to reach 90 in the 1st day morning. Probably registered and forgot about it. That's why i doubt they will switch.

Probably shock when they realise how 'hot' YT is this year and need to ballot. More shocking if they realise their chances r lower than in Unity.

The only difference is with the tier-1 school which remains so 'cool' this year. Please stay 'cool'. šŸ˜„

ok, here comes the news for closing today @4.30pm:

(within 1km only)
DLS : 110
Unity : 90
YT : 126

oh gosh !!! šŸ™ šŸ™ šŸ™ šŸ™ šŸ™ šŸ™ šŸ™
Wow DLS is 16 less than YT. šŸ˜„

Think all activities stop for Unity. The rest will be deciding between YT and DLS. My prediction for both remains.

YT needs ballot within 1km. 126 registered at 4;30pm 😢 for both my nephews

Wat is the number for DLS? Anyone knows? Hope it remains less than 110.

Going at the current rate, think YT may be creeping to 150 or more. Gut feel this year DLS will be less than 130.

Going with YT numbers that until today, there is no increase for > 1km. So they also do the same. It is an apple-to-apple comparison. I believe some parents r within 1km of both DLS & YT. But they thot YT got better chance and registered too early. If they ever track the number, they may feel bad now.

Some parent switch to YT because of DLS re-locating, do u think so?

Maybe but DLS is only re-locating for 2 yrs. It is not that far away. Considering if there is more than 1 kid, think it is worth it. For schools like DLS, they will take care of the kids during the re-location as they are well-organised. Anyway, we are talking about children's education here. Any slight inconvenience is worth a good education.
