    • RE: Watching plays/performances

My family watched the latest Aladdin Musical in Singapore and I highly recommend it especially for anyone who enjoyed the movie. Even though it's slightly more than 2 hours, the kids around me were enjoying it and my girl who's 10 years old managed to catch the dialogue and singing.

Besides the incredible performance by the cast, especially the Genie, we were amazed at the spectacular scenic sets, costumes covered in Swarovski crystals and pyrotechnics. Oh and the magic carpet really flies, making it such a magical experience.

Shared more about it on my blog so you have an idea what to expect, https://ajugglingmom.com/broadway-sensation-aladdin-singapore-premiere/

      Susan,
We hv engaged a driver with wife as co-guide. Our kids are grown up.

Will definitely keep Cingjing Farm, horse-riding & possibly pass Taroko Gorge for a photo or 2.

What are those places in our itinerary we can forgo for ano time? Pls adv

I've not been to all these places so hard to comment. Just ask yourself what you want from this trip? If you can't cover all places, the that's a good reason to go back again 🙂

Can anyone offer some feedback or advice?
Your itinerary is too ambitious. Do take into consideration the distance and travel time between each place and how long you intend to stay for each.

For example, I covered Cingjing Farm & horse riding in one day and Taroko Gorge & National Park anther day. Depends on the age of your kids (do they need to nap) and your interests too.

Families going to Johor Bahru this school holidays can check out the new attractions like SEA Life just next to Legoland and the new indoor playground Kiddomo Discovery in R&F Mall.

I've compiled a list of top ten things to do in Johor Bahru for families on my blog. This list is catered for families with young kids and tweens 🙂

My colleagues mentioned that the walkway to the JB cafes (opposite city square) can be ulu and dangerous (easy target for pickpockets). Is it really unsafe?
Crime can happen anywhere. Always be careful and keep your belongings close to you and be aware of your surroundings. I've walked there many times from my hotel to the cafes along Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, Jalan Ibrahim, Jalan Trus and Jalan Dhoby.

    • RE: How to keep a marriage strong?

First thing that comes to mind on keeping a marriage strong is to have open and honest communication. When the communication between spouse is broken down and they don't bother to speak to each other, it's even worse than quarreling, because both parties have \"given up\".

      Other action points like
      - Making time for each other
      - Putting the other party's needs before yours
      - Be quick to forgive and forget
      - Don't take each other for granted
      - Go on dates to keep the romance alive

This year, I finally went on a couple trip with hubby to Bangkok. it was so nice not needing to hold my girl's hands or to fuss about her and my hubby really appreciated the one to one time as well. :snuggles:

If you need some ideas for a quick couple getaway to Bangkok, I shared some romantic places which we visited. https://ajugglingmom.com/date-nights-and-couple-trips-matter/

      Hi

Planning a short getaway to malacca by self-drive. Besides hatten hotel, are there any other Recommended hotels that are fairly new, accessible and most impt, my car can be safe.
      Thanks

You can try Doubletree by Hilton. It's a pretty new hotel which is just besides the Elements Mall. I stayed that in March and enjoyed the stay very much. They have a kids club which young kids will like. I took the coach there so can't comment on the safety of the carpark.

I wrote about my experience on my blog which you may be helpful for you, https://ajugglingmom.com/where-to-stay-in-melaka-review-of-doubletree-by-hilton/

      Hi,

Anyone here can kindly advise me whether I should buy the entrance tickets online first before going to the adventure park at Austin Heights. I am going to JB from 19 Dec to 22 Dec. How much is the adult ticket and child (11 years old) ticket. Thank you very much.

You can check out the prices from their website here, https://www.funtime.my/tickets.

We must be one of the last to check out Canopi, the one that promises a glamping experience. We were there in Nov for and I've since been recommending it to friends who are looking for a relaxing getaway that's not too far from home. The main highlight of Canopi is the Azura blue lagoon, which was so crystal clear :please:

We booked the Lagoon View Deluxe Tent (paid S$477) that came with a personal jacuzzi right outside our tent and yes the room was air-conditioned 🙂 The room was very cozy with the king sized 4-poster bed.

There was plenty of water and land activities to do for the family. Most of the time, we were swimming in the lagoon and the kids tried hand paddle boats and kayaking. We did a mangrove firefly tour on the first night and it was a unique experience for the kids who saw fireflies for the first time.

      Must try activities are:
      - Firefly tour in the evening
      - Water slides at Slip and Slide.- S$5 per person with unlimited play
      - Escooter- $15 and hour to go multiple rounds around the lagoon
      - Pirate ship indoor playground - $8 per child with unlimited play
      - Spa at Treasure Bay - $28 for one hour full body massage (Super shiok :please: )

Food choices at the resort, was not bad but expensive for Binta's standard but we kind of expected it. We paid around S$16-S$18 for a pizza and $12 for nasi goreng and mee goreng. At least the choices were pretty decent with both local and Western options.

Overall a very relaxing holiday and perfect for those looking for a chillax holiday with family and friends.

      simplycho:
Hi everyone, I'm planning for a trip to taiwan in Dec and will be bringing my kids and parents along.. I have only been to taipei but not outside taipei and I'm thinking to include some farm activities during my upcoming trip.

I gathered that Flying Cow Ranch is in Miao Li and Cing Jing farm is at Cing Jing.
      May I know the following:
      1) Of the 2 places, Flying Cow vs Cing Jing Farm, are there activities to do within walking distance of the accomodations?
      2) I'm not planning to visit any mountains like Sun Moon Lake or He Huan Shan as we are quite afraid of heights.. Does getting to Flying Cow or CJ farm require driving up long winding road?
      3) Is it possible to reach CJ or Flying Cow via HSR in Taipei?

We're thinking to take HSR to CJ or Miaoli then hire a driver just to send us to n fro our accommodation and spend 2N either at Flying Cow or CJ and not require driver during our trip there

      thanks!
1)You can choose to stay at Flying Cow or just do a day trip there. In terms of activities, there is a huge farm and kids can feed the animals, milk cows, pet rabbits, etc. I brought my girl when she was 4 years old and she enjoyed the experience. You can see some of the activities and photos on my blog, https://ajugglingmom.com/first-farm-stay-at-flying-cow-ranch/

Cing Jing Farm is just sheeps, sheeps and more sheeps. Oh they also have horse riding and shows too but between the 2, Flying Cow is more interesting for kids. If you're going to CJ Farm, can also visit Small Swiss Garden (瑞士小花园) and Carton King that is not far from it.
      https://ajugglingmom.com/green-green-grassland-and-small-swiss-garden-cing-jing/

      2) He Huan Shan is a long and windy journey so do take short break to get fresh air.

      3) HSR doesn't get you to CJ and Flying Cow.

When we were at CJ, we didn't have a driver to take us around as everything was near the minsu we stayed. The minsu even provided transport to CJ Farm and I remember walking to Small Swiss Garden and Carton King from the minsu.
