I agree. It’s the same case for Chemistry (and other subjects as well). Most of the time, I will be reminding my tutees the topics they had covered before and then try to link them with the new topics. This will help them to remember better when they can see the links. It’s very important that they see interconnectivity across the topics and subjects (say Physics with Chem or Chem with Bio) . Afterall, for many science and math subjects they are interlinked.

RE: Networking Group - JCs General
To the J2s who have just finished their As - have you started about thinking what you want to pursue for your university education? Also, the next 6 - 7 months or so might be a good time for you to burnish the CCA part of your CV, especially if you are considering competitive courses like medicine, law, dentistry etc. University admissions officers would want to see what else you offer other than straight As in your transcripts.

Won’t be unless interest rates start rising. People can still afford since both the interest rate and unemployment rate are low.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. My dd is in JC 1 this year. She has done badly for H2 math and chemistry. I'm looking for reliable home tutors for these two subjects. Does anyone has any recommendations? Urgent, pls help.
Has your DD done any post-exam analysis on her mistakes? Is it because of carelessness or lack of understanding of the subject matter?
I am asking because my \"tutees\" had lost marks in their exams due to carelessness. I am now coaching them to be more careful. Their grasp of subject matter is now better as well. -
RE: All About A Levels
I suggest that you visit their Open House if possible. Talk to the current students there. You will be surprised by how much information they will be willing to share.

RE: All About A Levels
Further Mathematics is back for the A Levels, and will only be offered as a H2 subject.

Looking at NJC's combi example for F. Maths, it looks like students taking this subject will be similar to the old A level double maths, physics, econs combi. (Although students have a choice to substitute chemistry for physics). 4 H2s.

Assuming that a student has not particular preference for any course, I think that Chem is more often a prerequisite course than Physics. If the student already know what he wants, then that makes the choice easier. My daughter decided against FMaths the moment she realised that it reduced her to just 1 science - she has no idea what she wants to do, and is already grumbling about not being able to keep all 3 sciences.
Chemistry is not called the central science for nothing. If you have only one choice for a science subject, choose Chemistry, given that it gives you the most options for courses in the university.
I think if you want to take F Maths, you HAVE to take Maths.starlight1968sg:
I am confused here. Are you saying - based on the assumption that you take F Maths + Maths, you can take only 1 Science subject?
Is it necessary to take 2 Maths? If you take only 1 F Maths, you can still take 2 Sciences????
So 2 Sc subjects decided and you left with only one choice for the remaining Sc subject.
Now the challenge is which Sc subject to take; Phy or Chem? -

The TK tech-ers didn't really like us going over to their school, and I feel the technical teachers didn't really like us as well. DHS also didn't offer D&T as an O level subject option, so all of us would have been done with D&T by end of sec 2.Pardon? Mr lian han chuan still teaching? Is he the big size man?
I missed those days when we cut across the big field to go TK tech for our weekly tech lessons.
For Qiu Shen, he forbade us to step on the grass. I was once caught by him and you could imagine the story thereafter.
During my time, the P was still Mr Lim. Then the canning i recalled could be done by the P and not Qiu Shen. And for what reason. I cant remember. -

Immediately I remember that huge basketball court (6 or 7? courts) with the Casuarina trees. -

Of course! It’s amazing 'cos it’s the only school song that I ever remembered. I can’t even remember my primary school or JC’s songs.
