    • RE: Application for NUS/NTU Medicine 2024/2025

Heard NTU has started inviting applicants for their interviews. :rahrah:

Anyone knows if NUS medicine has started? No news so far.

UCAT has posted their 2023 preliminary test scores! It'll be a good indication to see how your ds/dd fares against global scores.

      From UCAT:
\"The following data is valid up to the 15 September 2023 based on 20,334 tests taken.

We are anticipating that a further 16,000 candidates will take the test; as a result the following scores should be treated with significant caution. Candidates should use these figures as a rough guide to judge their own performance as these numbers will change as the testing cycle progresses. As an example, the 2022 preliminary mean score was 2554 and the final mean score was 2500.\"

    • Application for NUS/NTU Medicine 2024/2025

Starting this thread early to discuss about entry to medicine to both NUS and NTU, especially when NTU is no longer using BMAT for their admissions.

Please take note that registration and booking for UCAT is STILL OPEN, until 21 September 2023, 12pm! ๐Ÿ˜„

Seems like LKCMedicine requires a civics tutor as referee... anybody noticed that?
Wow... a new requirement this year? What happens if the applicant's civic tutor is no longer around??

Dear parents, my son is in last year of school plans to apply to both local schools for med next year (planning BMAT this year) this also fits from our affordability view.
However, if he is unable to make it to local schools we are not clear of other pathways,
Next year when he is doing NS we are not sure how difficult or feasible it is to study for UCAT for UK/Australia admissions. Please do share your insights.
      Thanks in advance!
If both local med schools not possible, only option is to consider overseas undergraduate programmes or do the post-grad med programme in Duke-NUS med school. Wishing him best of luck in the coming application.

Thanks for the thread. Seems funny that we have turtles in our names.

Heard that registration for BMAT closes at 12pm tomorrow. Those who are interested to apply to NTU medicine better register for BMAT today!

It seems like vacancies are getting lesser and lesser as the days go by. Itโ€™s not clear how small or big the waitlist is as itโ€™s confidential, but I guess those on waitlist should be mentally prepared for rejection.

thanks Desmond for your response - however I was referring to NTU Medicine. my dd mentioned she heard of such cases before, thus I wanted to verify here.
I believe that defeats the purpose of a rejection for those in waitlist. We should not harbour such hopes and should instead comfort and encourage our child to take the rejection and move on to other options that are available. There are other paths available in life that are not Medicine-related if it's not meant to be. My friend's daughter got the rejection while placed in the waitlist, so I can understand how it feels too. Hope those who just got rejected have every success in whatever course they choose to study! ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats. May I know it was through phone call or email ?
Hi, this was through email. For the rest of the parents, please be patient with the administration. I called them earlier this week and also understood that this wait may drag on till mid July. I believe they are also trying their best to confirm their intake at the soonest. Cheers to all.
