Anyway, we have decided to stick to our best chance of getting a place. I.e P2C less than 1km balloting for Nan Chiau in Sengkang. That's our best bet for now. Whereas we might not even stand a chance to ballot for SNGS or MGS for P2B <2km. Unless a miracle happens. haha

We will then consider transfering school later if her results are good.

I'm also in the same dilema as you (big headache) I just started looking for info abt next year's enrollment for P1. :stupid: Apparently, we were too late to sign up for PV at Nan Chiau in Sengkang which is the most popular school in that area. :!: According to the staff, we will have to settle for P2C within 1km balloting if we decide to do that. Based on this year's balloting, the success rate for that P2C is abt 30%.

We are also considering to put my gal in a girls school, but the proximity of the schools of our choice (SNGS/MGS) falls outside the 2km range. We are neither baptised Christians nor Catholics, nor grassroots. The chances of getting that is even slimmer. My SIL house is actually within the 1km range of MGS.

Does anyone knows the balloting stats for P2C 1-2km for MGS??

When I read the forums, I see parents starting as early as 3 years ahead.....It's so stressful even to register for P1 now if we want to enrol in a good school.


The nearest school to my place is Anchor Green & Nan Chiau which is less than 1km.

My hubby was an old boy of ACJC, any girl schools such as MGS affiliated to it for Phase 2A1???

We are considering an all girls school such as St Nicholas, MGS or SCGS but we do not fall within the 2km range. Any advise or experience to share???

I think there's a girl's school near SK, CHIJ Nativity in Hougang.
Or you can try PLMGS in Lor Ah Soo (Hougang Ave 1).
The above 2 schools are quite alright in terms of distance. Results-wise, you'll need to check it out.

Btw, are you a baptised Christian attending a Methodist church? If yes, then you can get a letter from your church Pastor-in-charge to register your girl into any Methodist school (MGS, PLMGS, Geylang, Fairfield).

If you are Catholic, I think you can request for a letter to get into the CHIJs. I'm not too sure about this cos I'm not Catholic, but you probably can ask around.

My girl attends a church kindergarten but both of us are not baptised Christians nor Catholics. Neither do we attend a church. Therefore we wouldn't be able to get recommendation letter from churches. Would it be too late if we would to join one now since my girl has been attending a church kindergarten for 2 years???

Does it mean that if he joins the ACJC Alumni, we will be Phase 2A1??
Btw, we do not fall in the 2km range.
