    • RE: [Jurong West] BASC

      Hi,

I am registering my gal to Xingnan for PI in 2014. May I know if any parents here sending your kid to a nearby student care who are \"not too bad\"? Perhaps it is hard to determine good one, but definitely not hard to condemn the bad ones...if you want do drop me a few lines at yvonnelyc@gmail.com.

      Thank you.

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

      Angelight:
      minnie2004:

Hi angelight, good to hear you've finally got a new maid. Hope things will turn out ok for you :celebrate:

Is it a culture thing? Any one has Myanmar maids can share with me pls?

I won't be surprised the new maid does not know how to wash clothing using hands. They probaly meant they do not know how to wash them our way. It is ok, just show her at least once and remember to tell her how to differentiate clothing that may easily stained. I used to have different basket for different type of clothing. Not knowing how to wash car is a norm. We sometimes also scratch our own cars, so they will tell you they do not know as they are not comfortable. So, again, just show them once.

As long as the maid is not showing attitude, all others can be tolerated!

    • RE: Travel: Malaysia - Cameron Highlands

If going to Cameron Highland, it is recommended for you to use Elite Highway instead of going through Sungai Besi toll. I cant recall the exit name but after Nilai, watch out for the next exit. It should state to KLIA, Ipoh etc. Just follow the route to Ipoh and you will re-join the North South highway just before Sg Buloh overhead bridge.

    • RE: Travel: Malaysia - Cameron Highlands

Hmm..my hometown is in Ipoh and my home is just a stone away from The Lost World of Tambun. To my uncles and families, they do not go there..as the entrance fee is costly and small as compared to Sunway Lagoon. A year, I travel at least 6 times back there and never have I ever been to the place..

Anyway, Bowie, the weather in Cameron Highlands are unpredictable. So, go at any month is fine.

In Ipoh, you should visit all the Caves. Perak cave and San Poh Tong are the two famous one. There is one more with very nice granite and a lovely pond..slightly further in from San Poh Tong but it is hard for me to describe the place. The cave is at Rapat Setia area where I used to cycle there often when I was once styayed near this place!

And you should go to old town to try it famous chicken shredded kway teow (same eatery where old town coffee was born) you ask ppl around tehre and they will tell you where..but first you must be at Old Town! And you should also try the chicken and taugeh (Nga Choi Gai in Cantonese) at Old Wong ..if not Kok Kee also good..still lots of things..if you interested, let me know. I will write more for u..

    • RE: Travel: Malaysia - Cameron Highlands

      Hi,

First of all, taking a flight to Ipoh by Fireflyz is really not cheap. Driving is still the best. From Singapore, you will need about 6 hours to the exit to Cameron Highland…take the one after or near Simpang Pulai…that one is the new road to Cameron…do not take the old road as that road is more different to drive. Also, it is tough to get transport from the airport to Cameron…trust me, you will be extremely frustrated.

    • RE: Travel: Indonesia - Bali

      Hi Astroboy,

I went to Bali just about 2 months ago. I went on Air Asia. Since the journey is so short abt 1.5 to 2 hrs, any airline is good for kid but if you can afford, of course take non-=budget air will be better.

If youa re bringing kids, you may try to stay at Bali Dynasty. Check out their website but for us, we stayed in a villa with a private pools. We stayed with helicornia villa at Seminyak, nice place but if you and kids wanna near to Kuta Beach, the former hotel will be better...

For kids, elephant rides would be good but DON\"T GO! It is very expensive..USD68 per adult and USD23 per kid..my god..really killing me! Actually..if u were to ask me, Bali is really not a place for young kid.
