      Blessed Homemaker:
We stayed @ 南島嶼台北日租會館 in XMD. When we were there last Nov, they only had 3 rooms, now they have 6 rooms (4 double, 1 triple and 1 quad). Location is in the same building as TaipeiYork and ECFA Kunming, just above 7-11. Under 5 mins walk to XM station.

      Thks.. Look nice the place.

Is the actual condition the same as the picture? Found quite a few nice one but actual condition quite different from picture.

How much you pay for it?

My sentiments too! I was looking at a few other daily rentals (at a lower price) but the pictures they posted in their blog was when they first started business, so everything was new. But after surfing for bloggers’ pictures/reviews, some are in really bad shape.

For 南島嶼, based on Nov 2011 when we stayed, what you see is what you get. I booked room 2 (double) and room 3 (quad). We stayed 3 nights on weekdays, paid NT1580X3nightsX10% discount and NT2800X3X10% discount.

Are you planning to book a double or quad room?

            Hi All,

Any advice on hotels in Ximending? Thanks!

go for Amba ! very spacious and good breakfast spread !

I book Amba for my coming trip. My friend strongly recommend. She said the beds are comfy and location is good.
I wanted to book Westgate but they only have Queen sized bed.

              Thanks for all the recommendations!

For apartments with washing machine (in the apartment), a friend has recommended 台北窝。

For those who have visited sun moon lake and taroko, which one is worth visiting?? as i can only afford the time to visit either one attraction.

Does it have train service or buses to get to flying cow ranch from Taipei or tao yuan and take how long to reach the ranch?

                    Hi,

Need some advice on the services provided by "Taiwan Free and Easy". I read from their website some positive feedback on their services. Just wondering if anyone has used their services and can share their experience with me?

                      Hi hi,

I would go for Taroko Gorge. There is so much to see at Taroko Gorge. I did 2 days trails with our driver.

You may like to consider staying at \"Crossing the Rainbow Bridge Bed and Breakfast\" http://www.teyra.com.tw/ This minsu is about 2km from Taroko Visitor Centre. Nice rooms, decent breakfast and a pair of friendly couple. It is only 20 mins drive from Hualien.

                      For Flying Cow Ranch,
Check for train timing - http://twtraffic.tra.gov.tw/twrail/
Train from Taipei Main Station to Miaoli Tongxiao Station takes 2 - 2.5 hrs. Then take a cab from outside Tongxiao station to Flying cow ranch. approx 20 min NT$300

I read somewhere before - Flying Cow Ranch do have pick up service in Taipei. It will cost a bit more but for the convenience, maybe you can check with Flying Cow Ranch directly.

For Taiwan, if you have kids, I think it is best to arrange a driver. A little bit expensive but overall you will get to go to more places along the way.

                      regards!

There is a Taiwan thread already. You should post your question there instead of starting a new thread.
