No harm in putting on wait list. 2yrs back, My friend failed to get a place at MBS at phase 2c… She immediately went to put her son’s name on wait list… Her hubby sneered at her for being too Kiasu but she couldn’t care less. Then, on 30dec, she received the call from MBS to inform her that her son had gotten a place in the school. She readily accepted it, rushed down to sch to get the uniform and books…

Her only loss was… She had wasted money on the other sets of uniforms and some books.

嫌香港教育不够严苛　吴镇宇为儿报读培群

吴镇宇上周和新加坡籍老婆王丽萍和5岁儿子Feynman悄悄来新，据香港《东方新地》报道，他此趟返狮城是为儿子找学校，他最后选择了出名校风严谨的公立培群学校。

报道指，吴镇宇自小以军训教导儿子，据悉他的教育方式就是不停打击儿子的自信心，让他在失败中学习。

吴镇宇反对时下家长提倡的亲子互动，他不满香港社会太自由，嫌弃香港传统式教育不够严苛，所以日前趁儿子放暑假，特地飞来新为他找学校。

知情人说，吴镇宇认为小孩子一定要管教，做错事就要打或骂，不可以让孩子在太舒服的环境下长大，所以打算送儿子来新读书。

“他还专选公立学校，喜欢学校校风够严，他的老婆是新加坡人，申请手续会容易些。”

[b]上周，他们一家三口便飞返新加坡，吴镇宇除了为陪老婆回新探亲，也为了到学校面试。

据悉，他计划明年让儿子过来新加坡读小学，若面试过关，接下来还会再飞返本地办入学手续。[/b]

So unfair if his son gets in just bcos he's a celebrity. So what his wife is sporean, his son is not! How can MOE allow such thing to happen. He sounded like it's so damn easy for his son to get in. He better go by the rule and register in Phase 3 which is for foreigner, of course, no hope of Pei Chun Public. Sporean can't even get in, who is he to expect so.

His wife is a Singaporean ?
Is his son citizenship - Singapore or hongkong citizen ?

If his son hold hongkong citizenship -
Can only enter by phase 3, foreigners.
But Pei Chun already full house, by end of phase 2c.

But once after entire p1 registration end, hard to say.
But should any vacancy arise, pei Chun principal has to give priority to Singaporean kids first - esp those who failed in phase 2b or 2c balloting, whose names are queuing up, inside the wait list. Not give to any hongkong celebrity movie star, foreigner kid. The needs of Singapore citizen must come first. Pei Chun principal should be aware of this. Otherwise, public outcry, people can complain in the straits times - how can give priority to foreigner, regardless of celebrity status, or not ?

Moe, Singapore, forbid this to happen.
Because once a pre-cedent is made, other movie celebrity film stars or movie directors will follow suit, one by one. Then, when will it end ?

We, the citizens of Singapore, do not even have enough seats, for ourselves.

I just read this from newspaper this morning. I was thking to take the pic and post it here as I was wondering why did he sound so easy to get in Pei Chun? just attend interview? I guess waitlist should be very long for local mah…very unfair if he gets in as he’s celebrity as others mentioned here…

I called the first school just before the orientation date of the second school but I was told no vacancies and they told me they would call when there was. so bo bian had to wait and pray hard! so think just have to wait and if you want just remind them to call you once they have a vacancy. Would help to ask also roughly how many pple are ahead of you on the waitlist too ...to give you a gauge on how long to wait...

In the meantime, don't lose hope.

I was told waitlist not first come first serve and decision lies w p who to choose if there’s one vacancy.

I will try calling n ask.
So meantime remain hopeful hearing all the successful transfer stories.

Is his son citizenship - Singapore or hongkong citizen ?

Technically (and legally), his son could have both.

See 122(1)(b) and 122(4) of the Singapore Constitution.

36 sc for 36 seats. Cut off.
The 6 pr had to withdraw.
