Disagree. What values are we teaching the children?

          Disagree too :spank:
These parents are now really 'leading' by example.

I wonder why their parents made their kids do that. Can’t they donate to NTUC "FairPrice Share-A-Textbook" so lower-income families can benefit?! Burning books is a no-no. It’s like denouncing education and knowledge…

I agree, going thru PSLE is kind of milestone for children.

It teaches them how to handle stress, expectations and how to manage their time.

Parents should teach children to take this as a learning experience and not something they should hate…

The concept of burning books seems too extreme to me. What are they trying to prove actually? Burning books is not going to erase the reality of PSLE and its impact from their life…

And I totally agree with parents who say the books could have just been donated to needy children. This could have given them such contentment in seing that their used books will still be put to good use further on… instead of mindless burning…

Utter waste of money and no regard to the needs of society…seems a very selfish decision to me…

So later on when these children grow up and throw their parents into old age home, they better be ready to bear it… they are the ones who taught them with example that things which are of no use to them can be thrown away without any regard…

                      PSLE is overly hyped.
