      Green apple,

Yours is a year end kid?
My year end p1 also usually say I forget, every time I ask him what he did in school today. I had to ask specific stuff like, what you eat, did you play catching, what you play during pe, etc.
Teachers should not ask too generic questions and expect him to answer. My boy teacher asked what activity they do during holiday. My boy said he didn't know how to answer in chinese, so he gave sound effects. 😓
      My DD also year-end jedababe...

Chubs is too. Furthest end some more. 😓

I'd like to think that this should not be a main factor for any shortcomings, if any. :grphug:

DD never gave me any trouble in school or her school work especially in lower primary. Of course having fabulous teachers helped. A bonus in fact. But being a year-end kid didn't see her losing out in any area cept that she's on the small size, physically. Apart from that, her performance was noticeably better than her elder sister.

        Buds,

        Yours is dd.
        Mine is ds.
I stand to believe most, not all, dds are maturing faster than boys.
Not all year end kids are disadvantaged, but they did indeed lose out when others already 7year old, they just celebrated their 6yo birthday not long ago.
You sort of home school yours too la. Cannot compare to us common folks. 😓
Mine year end one, vocabulary and math and chinese word recognition is more powerful than ds1 at the same age. But can't converse well. Still baby baby.

              Hi Parents,

I need a private tutor to coach my son. I sent him to TAS previously and he couldnt catch up. The teacher advised me to get him a private tutor to coach him. Anyone has any good patient and passionate teacher who can arose the kid interest in english.

              Hi. J2mum.

My girls go to Think Tank at Namly, the lady boss Samantha is the ex English HOD at ACSJ. Although she teaches mainly the higher Primary pupils in her center, but all the teachers there are very good, my girls enjoy their lessons there very much. Their fees are about TLL's range.

Samantha gives private 1-1 tutoring too, but at her center @$130/hr, if you are interested.

Personally, I think Think Tank is better than TLL... especially the English Program

              TT tel: 64696585.

Does the ctr teach P1 eng & compo writing? What r the fees like?

                  Hi,

Yes, Think Tank has Language Art program from N1 onward.

For P1- P6, TT split Language Arts into Creative Writing and English Paper 2 (Comprehension, vocabulary and grammar) meaning, there are 2 separate lessons. Fees is $80/lesson.

                  Hope this helps.

I hv good recommendation. Hv pm u. My kids results improved from average to top5. This SA1 scored full marks for comprehension open ended. Compo 16/20. The teacher is very strict with her marking. Only 2 kids scored above 15.

I'm really pleased with their results.
