[Toa Payoh] Primary Schools

morach:
Thanks
I agree with you. Marymount is really out of the way. CHIJ TP is more convenient, nearer to the MRT station. I wish you success in your registration at CHIJ TPbebe:
I din get much feedback on Marymount Convent..very low profile sch..but I was told that the sch has a strong parent-teacher network support. I think the sch is comparable to CHIJ TP..both are equally strong in language and music...however CHIJ TP has affiliated sec sch..and CHIJ TP location is better..for me I find transport an issue for Marymount Convent..dat place is indeed secluded..reminds me of nursing home..
Tomorrow is the first day for Phrase 2C registration..hope everything went well for all

Hi Iām new in singapore. We only can register our child in Phase 3. Our first choice is RGPS. But since we are living in Kim Keat, nearest schools are Bendemeer, Pei Chun Public and First Toa Payoh.
Any advice which I should choose?
Definitely Pei Chun, but do we still have any chance at this Phase 3?
Does anyone knows about First Toa Payoh Primary? Is this school okay? -

Hi, would like to seek the views of parents on two schools that I am considering sending my boy to:
(a) Pei Chun Public School
(b) St Gabriel Primary School
For (a), we have applied to be Parent Volunteer and are waiting for the school's reply. This school, a well-known school in Toa Payoh, is within 1km from my parents' place. I will need to make a Statutory Declaration to use my parents' address as the caregiver. This school is a SAP school and offers effective bilingual environment. If we become Parent Volunteer, we can register under Phase 2B but might be subjected to balloting if the number of applicants exceeds vacancies.
For (b), it is located around lorong chuan area, further away but my husband is an ex-student so we can apply under Phase 2A, which the place is confirmed. What I like about this school is that it is a missionary school but apparently, it has not done as well as (a). I regard discipline as something very important.
I readlly don't know whcih school I should choose and so would like to hear the views of other parents. Thanks -

woonml,
you must realise that although your parent's place is within 1km from the school, your registration will be regarded as http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=476&start=0.
based on past year's statistics, it shouldn't be a problem if you are applying via Phase 2B. however, in the event the school decides to reduce intake (be it for single session purpose or whatsoever), and that balloting is needed for Phase 2B, priority will be given to those residing within 1km. -

Hi All,
Am thinking whether to enrol my boys to Maris Stella during this year P1 registration. The problem is I heard that they will ask kids to go if they didn't perform well in school. Is this true? My sons are not good in Chinese. Will they have problems if they study in this school? Any comments?
Regards,
VVJJ
