      To P6 pupils and Parents,

Since P6 pupils shall be getting their PSLE results soon...for those who are keen to choose DHS,
This DHS thread shall able to provide some basic n impt info abt the sch .... shared by me and other DHS parents over the years...
So please take some time to browse through it if u want to know more abt the sch...

Best wishes to all existing and potential DHS parents...

      Best wishes to all Dunmanians....

      :celebrate:
      Hi Augmum,

I don't know what reason you want to leave. It may be something very unhappy since it is a sudden decision.
When I have to decide secondary school for my DS three years ago, the advice you gave me was useful. And I believe many other parents also gained valuable information from you on DHS in this thread. :salute:

Hope you will still be around to give us information on Yr 6 and A Level.

          Hi,

Can i know what is the type of school shoe allowed for DHS? Can they wear sport shoes?

For the PE attire, is everyone the same or it goes by the different group?

Went to the website but not able to find any information. TIA.

Hi, for school shoes, can wear sport shoes but must be at least 70% white. Shall not be flashy.
For PE attire, everybody wear the same type of T shirt.

Oh...realise tt this post is not answered...

                chenchen:

I am very out of touch with the secondary school admissions, now that there are so many different options and routes to apply through.

My purpose here is to seek some clarifications and advice on behalf of my neighbour, whose daughter will be taking her PSLE next year. Although DHS is one of their top preferences, the mother admits that she is not sure about many things.

                1) Is DHS DSA exercise for the IP only?

DHS is an IP sch, so Yes, DSA exercise is for IP ....
Only those who cannot meet the promo criteria to IP at the end of yr2, would be streamed to O level class...

                3) If accepted through Wushu, she is bonded to the CCA for 6 yrs? Can she have a 2nd CCA? Is Wushu training demanding?
Yes, u can have 2 CCA...
U can change CCA when goes to SH ( yr5)....

                5) Does DHS have a separate class ( or classes ) for Sports DSA students?
No separate class for sports DSA, all will be mixed....

Thank you Augmum, I will pass on the info to my neighbour.

Hello, I'm a Year 4 Student, currently taking triple science and Geography.

There are more PRC scholars in other classes. An increasing number of them are choosing to not take Biology and they end up in other classes. This is because the M class usually has Science enrichment and those PRC Scholars are not offering Biology.
Not true that the M classes is for only Science/Maths Enrichment. And there are at least 20% PRC scholars there though.

                      My dd scored 253 plus HMT 2 = 255 . ( 3 A* and 1 A)

Her first choice is Dunman High. however COP for past year was 256. Does she stands a chance? As we will be away on posting results, hope to submit more confident application.

I think she stands a chance because the COP for secondary schools this year may drop by a point or so....no guarantee though. It also depends on the number of pupils who want to apply to Dunman High and their PSLE scores. No harm putting Dunman High as first choice anyway πŸ˜„ If application is rejected, Dunman High must be placed as first choice to warrant an appeal (I think). Hope I helped!
