      Hi.

I am not exactly sure about the workshop either, as all I know is from hearsay from colleagues, etc.

The feedback is rather varying though. Apparently, the workshop uses reverse psychology, and it’s not exactly beneficial to all students. Some of my colleagues’ kids even came home crying. And not to mention the exorbitant fees charged too.

But it’s just a pinch of my opinion.

Has anyone attended Adam Koo’s courses for P1 to P6?

Are there any difference in the academic progress of ur kids, after the course or during the course? Any feedbacks will be appreciated. Thanks

          Just to share.

My Primary 4 son attended the "I Am Gifted, Junior" program during the March school holiday. I would view it as a life time investment for the child who appreciate the program. I felt this program may works fantastic to the child or it may even waste of money. It really depends on the child and the parents who are they daily and life-time mentor.

          1) Course Fee
We paid $2,488, but it comes with the solid 5 days immersion camp and 10 weeks of success coaching (I cannot comment much on the success coaching because my son attended only Week 1,9 more to go). With that fee, there are Post camp workshop for the parent and there is another full day workshop that will be conducted by Adam Khoo himself which I have no detail at this moment. In every holiday till P6, my son can return for refresher course with a norminal fee. Well, I take it as something that the kids can fruitfully during school holiday and it goes them more exposure with other children and learn to work with different group of children, as when they grow up, they will need to work and meet people from different walks of life. When they are ready for I Am Gifted Senior (Sec 1 onwards), just 50% of the fee, your child can continue to the next level of their program.

          2) What my son had achieved?
My son is doing above average in school. The reason why I decided to put him in this program because he wants it after the Preview. Secondly, I starts to realise at times he thinks he is right and refused to accept others opinion. As P4 is really a challenge and even with the foundation, it may not be enough. Besides work hard, he has to learn to work smart. During the IAG-Junoir they not only taught them to look beyond in much practical way and also taught them what their school will never teach them - one of the interesting topic is living standard in Singapore and select secondary school etc… Surprisingly after the 5 days, all or most of the children already target where they are going and decide on their ambition. Most importanly, they also taught the children about relationship with their family. My boy does not have so much arguement nor bully his younger brother like before. In the past, he tends to procastinate doing his work or revisiion, and after the 5 days, he can finished his 5 days works and his school work within half a day. Now he has a good sense of Time management. They also taught them like super memory, speed reading and mind mapping which my son applies it in his spelling and comprehension, it was effective for him. He can remembers the words to learn within 1 min and learn to spell all within 10 min or shorter. Which in the past, he needs at least half a day.

Overall this program really works well if the child is matured (at least a litte) then they will really appreciate the whole program, it will be much easier for them to understand and they will fine it interesting and eventually they are willing and will apply in the work and for life.l If they felt they need recap or refresher, just go back to the immersion camp over the school holidays - it s free, you just pay a norminal fee for their F&B and Material.

i hope I did not oversell Adam Khoo’s IAG - Junior. In fact, my boy really benefited from their program, he is not 100% perfect yet and may be lack of some discipline from time to time. After all, he is still a child, as long as we work hand in hand with the child and guide them and support them along their journey, they will be successful not only in studies and also themselves.

One thing that what Adam said and I very much agreed, is always be positive and even you scold your child use positive language even you are screaming on top of your voice. Scold them on their behaviour, not on the child itself. Ha Ha!

          Thanks for reading my posting.

                Hi petech,

I think there is some preview going on… as I went to their office last Saturday for their Post Camp Parenting workshop. I would suggest you call them to get the exact date. Since their next camp will be 31st May, I would think a few weeks before 31st May. I also understand some preview was conducted by Adam Khoo themselves.

                Cheers!

                  Hi ChiefKiasu,

I have been your member for a while, but only started to post recently.
Where to start? I have 2 boys - P4 & P2 and currently doing Kumon for English & Maths, and taking Chinese with Jiang Education. Previously, they were with Kip McGrath for 2 months, Maths Aerna with 6 months and Eduplus for 6+ years for my elder son and about 3 years for my younger son.

I am most glad to share my experience of my other parents.

Hi, there are quite a few of these types of camps/training for the kids. Can any of the parents shed light on the difference between Adam Khoo and Mindchamps as well as super camp? Do they all serve the same purpose? And which is better? Appreciate any insights on this. Thanks so much.

I also received similar negative feedbacks from some parents. Their kids went through the camp said that they use money making as a driven factor. A lot of banging and throwing things, shouting during the camp including vulgarities.
Some kids may find it very cool and therefore they said they really enjoyed the camp. But personlly I find this kind of teaching actually pollute the young minds.
