New principal from park view. I wonder how the standard of aitong will be affected. This principal doesn’t seem to have any good track records during her tenure in park view since 2009. They have not produce fantastic PSLE results .
Is it only me who is worried about how she can continue to lead aitong in her next 7 years ? I’m sure a couple of our kids here will be under her leadership for the PSLE. -

Qihua primary is a school in Woodlands street 81
Woodlands is a big housing estate, perhaps one day Qihua become another Nanyang primary, in Woodlands, under her leadership. Woodlands residents will be happy, then next year u see P1 registration start to shoot up, at Qihua
MOE had started to rotate heavy weight Principal, to neighbourhood schools. -
While a principal leadership quality is important, the effect on the outcome for the school is less certain. Factors like quality of students (social economic factors), teachers’ strength, resources availablilty, etc are equally important.
As an analogy, even if we appoint the best football coach for Singapore, we are still not likely to qualify for the World Cup in 6 years time. -
Yes, P plays a big part in the culture & management of the school.
Quality of students themselves, whether they are interested in studying or not, plus their social, economic family background, also a very important factor.
Plus examine the quality of the teaching staff, too. Are they the bo chap attitude type like in some neighbourhood schools, in the east : where that lousy Chinese Hod only give P3 students one miserable zuowen to practise in the entire Semester one (Jan to May 2016), plus another miserable zuowen in the entire Semester 2 (July to end of Oct SA2 exam)
In the whole year, from Jan 2016 to Oct 2016, the entire P3 cohort in that primary Non-SAP school in the east, only given chance to write total 2 miserable zuowen, as classroom exercise. Pity them !
Yet come to P3 SA2 : expect them to produce zuowen quality, like a Chinese author. This type of Lazy, bo chap Chinese Hod, ought to be sacked, for not doing anything right to teach entire P3 cohort properly, in zuowen. Apathetic attitude ! Yes, don’t be shocked that there are such Chinese Hod existing around, in neighbourhood schools. She exists, merely to collect her monthly salary, as a Chinese Hod.
My friend (not rich), got to send her P3 daughter from that school, for Chinese zuowen tuition. She said Otherwise, sure to fail SA1 and SA2 Chinese composition, Paper 1. -
You ask yourself this question. Principal A you need to go tuition or not? Principal B you need to go tuition or not? If yes to both questions, then the P is probably not the most important factor. :siam:
A caring and inspirating form teacher is more important than the P. -
Not sure what are the criterias that Ps are assigned to the schools. However one thing very clear MOE will never post a P from a \"no brand\" school to NYPS :siam:

P is important as they lead the school in the right directions. Teachers follow directions and instructions esp on the teaching materials.
In the PTC , I ask about their teaching materials in addition to what MOE prescribed. The teacher asked me to check with principal. See ?
Hope this new P shares the vision of leading aitong into a good ranking school. And not like her previous posting in Park View with no impressive results at all.
I’m sure parents who send their kids to aitong, some from the opposite end of bishan, wanted a good school that produce results. -

Yes. Too many influential parents in that school and all the kids there are driven to aim for highest grades for IP track etc. If a neighbourhood P got posted there and cannot produce the same track records , I'm sure a lot of angry petitions from influential and rich parents . Haha -

because some students studying in Nanyang :
their parents or grand-parents are Ministers or ex-Ministers before.
Normally, they will send a heavy-weight, not a light, feather-weight P, over there.
