Last night one of my plans was for DD1 to take MRT to school for her PSLE oral since DD2 does not have school today.

Turns out both NS and DTL lines down this morning and fortunately, we decided to drive her to school , else can’t imagine the impact to DD1, turning up late and flustered (she is in group 1).

Hopefully, no other P6 children affected by the delays/breakdowns in MRT

MRT had to be delayed today because of signalling :slapshead:

hope the kids' moods are not affected.

DS wanted to take the train to school on is own. We told him no. Either DH or I will send him to school. During exam periods, we try to avoid possible stressors.

Was told that sometime back (during O's/A's), MRT stations actually had signages posted wherein if the exam was in progress, kids who are late due to the transit delays would be allowed to take the exams and given the full duration; else they could go to other exam centres etc. Such transit delays should not happen, but glad that there are contingency measures in place.

Even if there are contingencies and schools have alternative arrangements to accommodate such things, kids’ state of mind might be affected.

"To all P6 students taking the oral exam today: If you’ve been delayed on the way to school this morning, please don’t worry. The PSLE oral exam is on schedule but arrangements will be made for those who arrive late. You need not pick up any excuse letter at the MRT station. Just let your school know. If necessary, you will be able to take the exam at a later time."
