hi... i received a WL for VA. does anyone know the chances of getting in now? thanks!
The chances are good. There will be kids not taking up confirm offer when PSLE results are out usually...or who opt to go mainstream for various reasons -
any parent can advise if the school allow students to use Apple Iwatch?
-
as far as i know, there are no restrictions on what kind of watch you can wear. However, since Apple has internet functions, you probably wont be allowed to wear it for exams, tests etc?

I would appreciate your feedback on tamil as second language in the IB program. There seems to be quite abit of mandarin materials for IB preparation but I can’t find any tamil self help or assessment books in the bookstore for the tamil standard IB program. Firstly Where can I find materials for Tamil? Secondly if the child is scoring about 60 - 70 at MTL in primary school, is it easy to cope for IB? What is the standard like? And how do you think the child can prepare for it? Thanks.

Congrats to all who received notice for scholarship, CO or WL! If you had set your mind on SOTA, you are on your way in. :imcool: In fact, you may soon receive an invite from the school for engagement session very soon. Do mark SOTA as 1st choice in option form given at end Oct. :rahrah:
As you are aware, CCA is not organised for students due to committment & timetabling to practise art form in the school.
For those of us parents who had been through the CCA baptism of fire and understand the value of it, you may wish to consider the Scouts open group that my child is in. It is affiliated to the Singapore Scouts Association and is organised by parents. This unit is an extension of our Cub Scouts open group (primary school)
We have a Get-To-Know-Us kayaking session tomorrow at Passion Wave @ Marina Bay. If you are interested or wish to know more, pls whatsapp me at 92305142
Cheers! a SOTA parent -

Hello there. Firstly, I am not a parent and currently a sec 4 Express student in a mainstream school. (My apologies) I recently read about SOTA and I'm considering whether to register for the SOTA Direct School Admission – Junior College (DSA-JC) Exercise. I've taken Art electives and core subjects in school. I have a few achievements in Arts ; winning in national art competition. However, I am weak in subjects like Mathematics and Science. And my academic reports is needed for the auditions. I'd like to seek advice from experienced parents. I am also wondering whether they will look into my olevel results and decide whether I can join them in year 5 the following year.

Hi, SOTA graduate here. Based on your query as to where to find study materials for the IB program it wouldn't be easy but the school does a fair good amount of work into giving the student what they need. Most of the materials you find in regular bookstores may not be part of the IB curriculum and hence, your best option is to ask the teachers for them.
60-70 is pretty decent but the IB programme is relatively different from regular programmes so there are variations. The IB is very demanding and gruelling but with consistent effort and perseverance, its not all that bad. You don't really have much to worry about the IB, not at least until Year 5 and 6. Other than that, it would just be regular schooling. -
Hi everyone. I have unexpectedly two spare tickets (because hubby and son can’t make it) to tonight’s IBCP “world tour” music recital at 7:30. I will be attending with my Daughter. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll leave it at the entrance

The things that the students in SOTA are learning...are they different from the things that normal Sec school students learn? :lightrod:
