Hi, I am a newbie here. having dilemma deciding. I lives in the west and there is only FFMP within 1-2km of the house, and only qualifies to register under P2C. would it be a risky try? or should i consider other surrounding primary schools which are out of 2km?

      thanks.

If u’re near FFMP, are u as near Nan Hua Pri? FFMP is a Methodist sch & can try for affiliation to sec sch after PSLE.

If u’re nearer west coast, then Nan Hua & possibly QiFa or Pei Tong?

It’s not a risky try; it’s a no-hope-of-succeed try since balloting is likely to occur for < 1km for FMPS in Phase 2C.

If there is nothing else within 2km, you will have to aim for those that doesn’t require balloting for > 2km in Phase 2C.

I agree with Floppy’s assessment. The last time 1-2km even had a chance to ballot at Fairfield was donkey years ago. Dragon year? Forget about it.

Your profile shows you only have 1 precious girl. I suggest just enrol her to all-girls school CHIJ Kellock. Or Bukit Timah Pri if you really want somewhere nearer to your house.

NanHua will be even more impossible to try register, it is out of 3km. Am at around the Pasir Panjang area.

QiFa, PeiTong and Clementi might be the next option to consider, all > 2km. Which will be a better option, any suggestions?

Still considering the 3 schools but still stuck at which to go for?

                  DC05,

When I indicated west earlier, u did not clarify Pasir Panjang. Not sure which part of PP u’re staying but wld Radin Mas or Blangah Rise be an option or nearer? O’wise Kent Ridge Pri?

Kent Ridge Primary, where is situated?
Nope, RadinMas and Blangah Rise are not nearer. Am nearer the NUS side of Pasir Panjang.

I have PM you. I *still* advise all-girls school if you are willing for her to travel via school bus. If you really want one of those 3 neighborhood schools, Clementi Pri seems like the least bad reputation, and it is convenient as in walkable to the mall and MRT.

... what are the enrichments you are sending you kids to to prepare for primary 1?

What are the better enrichments to improve English ah?
Hi, hearsay, EL @Learning Point is popular - they follow school curriculum closely so the child gets used to worksheets (fill in the blanks sort) before actual school lessons. Also, reasonably priced, regular tutor feedback, cover all components of EL, focus on students' suitability (a frens child was turned away after a few lessons cos tutor realised their materials were too advanced for that child to follow). LP is more of building foundation, jmo.
