Hi
Anyone knows if Haig Girls undergoing balloting for which distance? I’m assuming for above 2km? Any info to share about the breakdown of numbers? Thanks. -
SMS is from MOE on the morning of 8 August, usually around 7 - 8am. Everyone who applied for 2C gets this SMS whether successful or not, whether any ballot or not.
If you call the school, they may let you know whether your application is safe, no ballot, or need to go for MOE ballot.
Tomoko:
Can anyone advise, do we need to call the school to check the status or just wait for the SMS from school to inform the result?
Many thanks.. -

it's not the end of the world. really....
Especially sad when there are parents who made it sound like dooms day to have their child posted there.Aztac:
actually my concern is...notwithstanding parents' wishes to get their child into schools of their choices, we haven't given thought to the morale of the teachers and staff of those schools where in Phase 2C have loads of vacancies because nobody wants to go there. Even the best and motivated teachers in that \"unwanted\" school will despair after a while and that \"unwanted\" school stays \"unwanted\" for a long time
Our system is really quite sad -
Aztac:
Why sad for the teachers? They get to enjoy a lower ratio of students to manage leh!actually my concern is...notwithstanding parents' wishes to get their child into schools of their choices, we haven't given thought to the morale of the teachers and staff of those schools where in Phase 2C have loads of vacancies because nobody wants to go there. Why sad for the students or parents? They get to enjoy more personal attention & coaching leh! -

I think the class size will still be the same but lesser classes

anyone curious why Taonan 2c this year so good odds?
almost the least oversubscribed good school. So different from the old impression. the odds for 2c is even better than 2b!! -
Aztac:
it is. i also dont think there is true meritocracy. pri/sec affiliation score advantage has to be scraped. even if my kids are in affiliated schools, i will support it. there is also a divide with have and have nots. some schools only have private property around them and if you want to get in to those schools, you either buy or rent.actually my concern is...notwithstanding parents' wishes to get their child into schools of their choices, we haven't given thought to the morale of the teachers and staff of those schools where in Phase 2C have loads of vacancies because nobody wants to go there. the new moe kindergarten affiliation to pri school is an interesting new twist but affiliation is not the way forward. -
walkaround:
Ngee Ann Primary in recent years had won a lot of accolades, hence probably most parents be won over by their good results.anyone curious why Taonan 2c this year so good odds?
