Could be they registered early to secure a place and monitor schools around their homes in 2C and didnt dare execute their plans. Maybe in 2C they change their minds and go for some schools with many vacancies.

1st: 2A(1) or (2) withdrew to 2C for ACSP ballot.
2nd: 2B withdrew to 2C for SCGS ballot.
Both won ballot. Happily ever after.

But I doubt anyone will withdraw from 2A or 2B to try at 2C(S)?? Can’t think of any reason leh.

withdraw from 2A yes...but it is a very dangerous game to play because there is time required to withdraw and run to the school with vacancy in 2C. withdraw from 2B not that I heard of because parents would have put in effort to do PV.
withdraw to register at 2CS? for what?

No. Only need 1 parent with both original ICs.

The school told u directly?

My friend got balloted out from popular school last year at 2C. Since she was on site to watch the balloting, she immediately went to general office and filled up the waitlist paperwork.

Meanwhile, applied to backup school at 2C(S) and got in. Went thru orientation & buying uniforms etc life per normal, not expecting any miracles...

Then unexpectedly her waitlist school called her in late December (a mere few days before school started) and said congrats, there’s a place opened up and your child can join the school in January for P1.

By the way, this is not the only case which has happened. Over the years, several KSPs have shared in the forum that this actually does happen to a few lucky waitlistees. Often in very late December.
