Quick check also on the uniform, how many sets do we need to buy based on experience of parents in this forum?

For FTWPs without helper, I strongly suggest 5 sets of uniform and at least 2 pairs of shoes. If your budget is not too tight.

Then you don’t have to wash anything until weekends. Saves you untold amount of hassle and time during your precious weekdays :imcool:

Thanks! I read that 2 sets of uniforms and 3 sets of PE uniform will also do for those who will do regular laundry. I think I might get 3 sets of each hmm. As for shoes, it's been a while since my time and I hear that kids can wear white or black (depending on school) sports shoes to school now? No need to just wear those canvas shoes? Would like to get something with more support for my son...
If you don't buy from school, you can get those from Bata... as long as it is plain black/white shoes... Suggestion: don't get too expensive ones, especially for boys... heard a lot from my friends that their son's shoes can last for like only 3 months and need to change liao cos damaged... good times, lasted 6 months... :slapshead: so end up, they buy from taobao... cheap cheap... Also, check if you can let your child wear those white socks with black/grey/navy base... easier to wash...

That's genius. Thank you! And yes makes sense not to splurge on shoes since they are still growing anyway. Good to know!

I bought 3 sets uniform and 3 sets PE attire for my elder boy, but he can wear PE attire or CCA tees the whole week (except for the weekly tie day (if there is no PE on that day)). So for the didi, i am thinking to get 1 set uniform and 3 or 4 PE attires.

How do we find out on the school uniform supplier? Sorry, it's my first time too with a kid in P1. No idea on what is the orientation like or will be 😓

I found the uniform supplier info on the school website. 🙂 Otherwise maybe can call to ask!

http://euniforms.com.sg/schedule.html - school uniform supplier for several schools - their shop is at Sembawang Shopping Centre.

for shoes, schools are more flexible now. bata days are over.
I am particular about the sole padding since they would need to jump and the padding has to be thick. I get either reebok or adidas school shoes. don't buy too late though (as in late dec) as common sizes are sold out fast. for lower primary, I get Velcro ones. morning rush, just wear without having to wait for them to tie shoe laces.
as they progressed to p3, I switched to shoe laces especially for my son.

Seeking some advice & hope for a slow mummy. How likely is a Principal willing to meet a parent who failed in balloting?

My dragon boy lost out in P1(2C) ballot and I was a bit slow (first timer) in submitting the waiting list. I called the school a few times and the principal was willing to meet me due to my son ongoing robotics class (aligned with the school robotic cca achievements), does it show that we have higher chance in the waiting list?

If the principal is willing to meet you, it does look promising but still don’t hold hopes too high.
Make an appt to see him ASAP. Your sincerity by calling the school could be the reason. All the best.

Used to buy good ones fr United Square. There are 2 shops selling them. Alternative is Queensway as a default shoes & sports gears place to go to. Happy hunting!
