The cutoff is high this yr due to the pri side didnt do well thus majority end up next door.

2018 is the worse cohort in ij tp pri. Mayb it was margaret tan last year so she dont give a damn
I don't think this is a nice thing to say. from what I know, Mrs Tan is not that kind of person.
IJ TP is a close knit school...just because it takes in many girls from primary affiliated doesn't mean the standard is low.
The standard of English is definitely not low by any standard.
btw, not all girls choose to enter JC. even those who do well to enter JC enter the poly with single digit O level results.

May I please ask how many sets of white blouse/PE attire/house tee would be sufficient weekly?

We got 2 sets each of blouse/pinafore and PE attire initially. Added an extra pinafore as dd2 wears house/event tees on most days. School allows tees on hot days.

Hi, just wanted to say something about this school.

CHIJ Sec is actually a pretty decent school. It is known for its high standards in the performing arts and the English language, as well as focuses on values and morals. Not so much of Math and Science but the environment is good too. The students there are very expressive so they may come across to some as ‘loud’. The reason why a lot of girls from the primary school go to the sec school is that they want to stay with their friends. CHIJ has a very close-knit community and the girls are very enthusiastic too. Definitely recommend sending your girl to this school if she likes that kind of environment and culture they have. Also located in the Central area so it’s convenient. Also has a good holistic education.
I myself went to the IJ Primary and am currently studying at IJ Sec, and I know a lot of girls would want to continue their IJ education. I have many good friends from the primary school that I am still very close to. A lot of girls actually do very well for PSLE, but they still choose to go next door. Although some managed to get into St. Nicks and Raffles.
              Hope this helped.

Yes your girl can join AEP in Sec 1.
First she has to take a sort of test to judge her skills, and she does well enough she will be given a choice of whether she wants to be in AEP or not.
Also Open Hse is usually in Nov/Dec

Can anyone please share their experiences with going to CHIJ from Caldecott Station in the morning? Are the feeder buses frequent, or is one better off walking to school from the station? Thank you.

There is only one feeder bus (141). You can check the frequency using the SG Buses app this coming Monday morning, in real time.

The school is 4 bus stops away from Caldecott station, that’s way too far to walk.

If you are coming via North South (red) line, it is still walkable from Toa Payoh MRT, or from TPY bus interchange, choose from either 141 or 231 and take one stop to school.

Thank you. That's a good idea - will check the bus app on a weekday morning.

Hi all, I have a few questions regarding CHIJTP as I’m a freshman planning on joining this school. Firstly, How are the students like in the Normal Academic stream? Is it full of bullies and misbehaving students? I’ve also read that since they have a primary school affiliated to it, many of the girls from the primary school are already close to each other and have their own friend groups. I’m afraid that as a new student ( who also has horrible social skills :slapshead: ) would have even more trouble blending in and making friends. Secondly, how is the Secondary 5 life? Just in case I don’t manage to make it into the Express stream, I hope that it will maintain it’s (allegedly) nice environment. Hope to get some replies soon! :thankyou:
