Attended NUS' \"Conversation with the Dean\" yesterday on Engineering at Tangs Marriot Hotel.

      It was very very crowded.

The most discussed was the new E-Scholar Engineering Programme, it's flagship 4-year engineering programme that comprises an accelerated 3-year Bachelor Degree plus 1-year Master Degree.

This replaces it's previous double-degree Global Engineering Programme.

Singapore students who are offered the course will be offered a scholarship automatically and the scholarship is equivalent to NUS' most prestigious Global Merit Scholarship.

Students who are called up for interview must have stellar academic results. Critically they must pass the interview as well.

The E-Scholar programme only takes in about 60 undergraduates each year and will be given close mentor support specially chosen by the Dean.

They will be given the choice to stay in their newest Residential Collage RC-4 or the USP, which focuses on different academic studies.

Is your DS offered a place.? Any string attached if the scholarship is accepted?

Yes. He has been offered a place in E-Scholars Sxholars.

The scholarship is bond free and covers 4 years up to their Masters degree.

But the scholarship is only given to Singaporeans.

Hi understand there is this early admission exercise to NUS/ntu for jc2 students. How does it work? Is it a conditional offer and any min score to attain?

It's by invitation based on prelims results.

How do you overcome your disappointment if your chosen university refused your application?

For early admission to local universities that requires predicted grades, does the school send the predicted grades directly to the university that requested it? Or, the student must ask the school to send it to the university?

The JC will auto submit if they feel the student is qualified. Of course, the university will still get given the high number of submissions.

How many applications to universities did you process? Were you nervous about processing your application?
