also wanted to ask if we will know the number of students intake for the school to be reduced?

for example temasek primary 200 in 2020 drop from 240 in 2019…
if possible anyone know if red swastika is also dropping to 200 students also or remain?

Usually the quota for the number of vacancy is only announced during that year when phrase 1 starts if i didn't remember wrongly.

Note that this year, 3 schools in Bukit Merah have cut its available vacancies:


1. Blangah Rise (BRPS) by 30 spots from 120 to 90.
2. Cantonment (CPS) by 40 spots from 210 to 170.
3. Radin Mas by (RMPS) 10 spots from 210 to 200.
and nearby River Valley (RVPS) by 30 spots from 240 to 210.
for total of 110 spots.

4 schools kept the available vacancies the same as last year

Alexandra (APS) remains the same at 210
CHIJ (Kellock) remains the same at 200
Gan Eng Seng (GESPS) remains the same at 180
Zhang De (ZDPS) remains the same at 210.

Taking into account the lower birthrate (7% lower) in 2013, compared to 2012, and just looking at Phase 1 numbers, GESPS, RMPS, ZDPS has relatively lower registrations in Phase 1 this year. Wonder why?

How do I find out the total available vacancies the school has allocated for this year? From what I see on MOE website, only the available vacancies for Phase 1 is shown. Thanks

Neko25, you just need to add 40 to the available vacancies for Phase 1.

Phase 1 is a phase where no one can really control. Can’t really tell which parents will have another child and whether the child is 1 or 5 years apart. Lower registration for RMPS and ZDPS would be good news for those aiming those schools.

Hello everyone,


like to get some advices as I cannot decide if I should go back old sch or just go for nearer neighbourhood sch.

I can send him to school daily but concern about the morning traffic at 6.30am. If move house, ubi area is all the old houses (30+yrs), kind of too old to buy.

If I try for MBS and he cannot adapt, can I still transfer him back to punggol schools. Not sure what is the requirement for transfer.

1)Maha bodhi pri (2A2)
2) Punggol View (< 1km, likely to ballot)
3) Waterway pri (1-2km, likely ballot due to MK)

It appears that MOE has erased all the previous data for Phase 1 since it’s now over. Looks like they intend to display only the current phase.

Irritating to the max & super user-unfriendly + parent-unfriendly, their new website. But that’s my own opinion.

So people who are monitoring/counting down, better to screenshot the relevant pages at the end of each phase. Keep your own Excel sheet of numbers for those schools you’re interested in.
