SMPS - 82 for 108 places.floppy\" post_id=\"1925917\" time=\"1564721928\" user_id=\"97579:
SMPS is 1 of those schools which refused to disclose anything regarding the number of applicants. I kept asking (very politely) and even tried and asked in other ways eg percentage of vacancies left or is your registration area very crowded but the admin lady refused to say anything. Just tell me to come and apply . Imagine the frustration of parents who are playing musical chairs with RGPS...
I thought the “just... come and apply” is an obvious “obstacle clear” signal.
KPKB the admin for #fakenews?
Go ahead and apply?
Turn around and go back to RGPS?
While this year's SMPS enrolment was a bit low (not unexpected given the location of the temporary site), it is worth remembering that SMPS usually runs out of vacancies in Phase 2C. Admin may not want to sell you a \"I'm cheap, come get me\" signal. Hence, \"just come and apply\" may be a compromise

Then it's up to parents to decide on the risk. -

My experience last year was OK when i called up to check after 12noon for SC > 2km, the admin very willing to share with me need to ballot. Sigh, if only my gal is due for registration this yr instead of last yr.

yes i did
You would have seen the number of replies that says \"call the school\". And you would observe the number of helpful parents that really did \"call the school\".

Have you ever worked in a call centre?
Given that you have worked in a call centre (I used to manage one), you will understand that the admin is NOT a call centre. Every minute that they spend answering your call, put you on hold, check the stats, etc is a minute taken away from doing something useful, like making themselves a cup of coffee. If they tell you the stats (82 for 108 places), they will also know that you will be following up with \"Does this number includes online registration? How many SC? How many under 1km, 1-2km, > 2km? How many more people in the queue? etc\" Perhaps, unfortunately so, the reality for schools that are at the edge of battlefield are also the ones most likely to be flooded by calls. Thus, do the admin a favour. Don't call them. If you want to know, \"just... come\". -
They must be under MOE pressure, nothing much they can do. Just yes boss!
