+3 if you apply to a SAP school.

And check the eligibility letter if you actually do get the 3 points. In theory, a person can get a distinction in higher chinese but do not get the +3 if his t score is not within a certain percentage of the cohort.

where can I find if dd is eligible to get the points for higher Chinese? Not able to find from the result letter. Thanks.[/quote]Is stated in the eligibility letter, S1 Posting letter.

                Merit before choice order.

So the higher scorer will get in first, regardless of his/her choice order.
Gets more complicated when it comes to affiliation.. what if affiliated student just meet cop puts 1st choice, and non affiliated student also just meet cop puts 2nd, who will get the slot? Affiliated cop is always lower than non affiliated but both fighting for the last slot

I think, this will never happen, because the affiliated students get in first, up to 80% of the total sec 1 cohort. Then the leftover 20% is allocated to non affiliated students. If affiliation students fill 65%, then the 35% will be allocated to non affiliated students. It is done serially, not in parallel. I think.

What zac mum said is true, provided the Secondary school is a Non affliated school

But for Affliated school, starting from this year onwards, 20 % must be allocated, reserved for outsiders.

So, those affliation schools with low Affliation Cut off point at 200 -
This year, it is possible that some students with Tscore 200, may not be able to go back to your affliated O level Sec school, even if you put your affliation Sec school down, as 1st choice. They will have to give way, to outsiders (non affliates) coming in with higher Tscore, than them

But for Sec schools with higher Affliation cut off, e.g. st nick at 230, the behavior is slightly different

Maybe out of 80 % reserved for Affliates,
only 65 % is actually being utilized, because some with higher Tscore, esp. Those from the Top few 2019 P6 classes eg. Those scored above 260, will exit out into (RGS / NYGH / St Nick / MGS) IP (A-level or IB) programme, ie. exit out of the OP programme, totally.

So, (80 - 65) = 15 % extra remaining un-utilized balance will then be added back to the \"cannot-touch\" 20% reserved for outsiders, to join OP (St Nick). There are Total 5 OP classes, plus another 5 IP classes inside St Nick, making it Total 10 classes

Quick question for Parents of 2019 PSLE Warriors: If your child is eligible for 3rd language (Malay/Arabic), would you encourage him/her to take?

Malay / Arabic is open to all students who have gained admission to Express and NA. Unless your child has a keen interest in the Asian language, I won’t encourage or be bothered with it.

                        :thankyou:
