ACS(I) Results of the November 2019 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Examination
Published on : 2020-01-03
Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) students received their results for the November 2019 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Examination this afternoon in school. The cohort of 456 students achieved an average score of 41 points with 349 (77%) achieving 40 points and above. The 2019 cohort is the school’s largest in five years and all will receive their diplomas.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically[1]. ACS (Independent) IB students offer six subjects in addition to the three core elements — the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). These three core components aim to broaden students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills.
Principal, Mr Arene Koh, congratulated the students on the completion of their IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). He noted that “globalisation, changing demographics, technology advancements will shape how our students will thrive in the 21st century. The diploma programme offers a holistic educational experience where young people acquire the skills and values to guide them as they navigate the unknown future. It is our hope that they will continue to make a positive difference to those around them.”
Mr Koh also paid tribute to efforts and dedication of the school family, saying “The diploma journey was a collective effort and partnership between the students and teachers.”
The school expresses its gratitude to the ACS Board of Governors, the Board of Management, the ACSOBA, the Methodist Church, MOE, parents and well-wishers for their advice, support and encouragement.

Any parents interested for carpooling to/from Katong/ Amber/ Marine Parade/ Joo Chiat area?
We can work out something among us (take turn driving/ share grab) to cut down travelling time by public transport

Maybe getting the kids to use public transport maybe a better option given the early morning traffic :?

Anyone knows CCA bonus points applicable to ACSI IP students? If not then how it is useful for IP students? Any advice?

CCA points aren't applicable to IP students in the strict sense, since they are—on meeting the internal criteria—promoted to their respective pre-university classes: in this case, the IB Diploma course. However, they do serve as a kind of comparative measure. After all, those points are given often for things that look good on a CV.
