          Thanks Autolycus and Estéema!
Is it true that many Asean scholars take this course?
Is it difficult course to score?

Also, any idea how many IP classes for Chem/Phy/Hist and Chem/Phy/Geog combi?
For Year of 2020, the IP/IB Classes are allocated as follows, one class each :-

          1) SBGE- TRIPLE SCIENCE
          2) Accelerated Sc Class (ACS)
          3) SGBE - Physics & History
(SBGE are classes for those alr in GEP)
          4) Comp Sc/Geog, Physics & Chem
          5) Physics & History
          6) Biology & History
          7) Triple Science
          😎 Chemistry, Physics, Biology

          Just for an indication.

Just out of curiosity, how come History is so much more popular? 3 classes of History vs 1 class of Geography.

Also option 4 has 4 subjects? Does it mean in this class, they do ALL 4 subjects?

Would Bio and History be very content heavy ?

              Hi Estéema,

What is the difference between option 7: Triple Science, and option 8: Chem Physics Biology? For the ACS class, do the boys take triple science too? Thanks!

The ACS class have only 20 boys this year & they’re boys who are not from GEP, but allocated all the best Science teaches. ACS class students are selected by a FT & HOD & students not offered will not join. There are boys who declined offer coz its a very rigorous Programme.

ACS The diff in 1)-3) compared to the rest of classes is that they’ll complete syllabus early & do more graded projects towards IB score. Seems also they’ll be exposed to more national competitions (which drives them to want to learn more). Not sure if it’s a good thing but depends on individual student’s interests & motivation.

For Options 7) & 😎 I’ll hv to check for you if u really keen to know. Honestly, I’ve not checked what’s the difference.

Thanks Estéema for sharing! My friend’s DS1 in Sec 2 IP, so many things she is unsure of, so I thought I could help her find out a bit more. But I’m sure she will be able to navigate the system fine.

                    Just guessing only...

Maybe these Pre-IB kids are doing World (International) History? Comparing History of the world versus Geography of the world, I think most boys would choose History cos content would be “exciting” World Wars versus studying some unfamiliar maps and non-tropical climates??

I’m interested to know if this is the reason.

Most parents are familiar with O level History and Geography, which are mostly ASEAN history and generic Geography that’s applicable in Singapore climate.

Also, it would appear from the listed choices that Literature is a compulsory Humanities in ACSI. True? Is it called Literary Arts?

At ACSI, it’s called Language Arts and an English Language component. Not quite easy for most boys & in Year 2 they get anxious abt performing due to Year 1 ‘ignorance’ of its value & importance. Most boys need help. Once they get cross Year 2, they’ll be more confident. It’s part of their learning journey
