There are some comments from Jan 2019 (page 623) that indicate all of the classes are mixed now. Hopefully, someone with firsthand knowledge can confirm for you (I cannot).

Yes, all the classes are mixed; there’s no banding in Year 1 or Year 3. Some classes will have girls taking same MT or HMT. Some girls from specific demanding CCAs may be grouped in the same class, eg rhythmic gymnastics. But generally, pretty well mixed.

From year 3 onwards, how do you support their studies? Do they need to go for many tuitions eg chemistry math higher MT? Is it sufficient if they just read and understand what school has prepared for them for exams?
How can they improve their I&A results ?

Just sharing my experience: mine doesn’t go for Chem and math tuition except HMT (which she only started like 3 weeks before EYA ). And she is doing reasonably ok in these subjects (3.6-4.0). So I think it is possible to do comfortably well without tuition in RGS. That said, my girl did study with her friends (on zoom these days due to Covid-19), and make notes together (shared on Google Drive). So i guess it is not just simply read and understand what the school teacher taught in class? For math, the teacher did give past year papers and problem sets for them to practise. Being diligent helps, especially for math. The girls can also approach the teachers for consultation too. For I&A, Sec 1 and 2 is a breeze, but Sec 3 got harder (but still, the median is 3.6, so I think it is manageable). Attentive listening in class, consultations with teachers, and collaborative study sessions with friends would help

Hi any parents can share if there is still house practice for the year 2? Is it usually on Wednesdays just like for the year 1s? But for year 2s, they are supposed to have research studies time every Wednesday afternoon right?
