For the last point on the promotion criteria, would like to understand what is the 4 H2 subjects that they are recommended to take for flexibility later on in choosing the subjects? I assume any combination in Sec 3/4 IP will allow the flexibility? Is there any combination that will not have the flexibility later on?
Hey! My daughter chose her subject combination recently too and she had to sit through many briefings on subject combinations. Since you mentioned your daughter is in IP, I assume she will be going to VJC. In VJC, there are two distinct streams, Art and Science. VJC does not really offer hybrid combinations.

Science stream- Chem + bio/phy + math + a contrasting subject (eg. Geog, econs, theatre studies...)
Art stream - Any 3 humans (eg. Geog, econs, threatre studies, history, literature...) + math

If your daughter chooses triple science+1 humans (eg. literature), if she chooses science stream, she can pursue H2 Chem + PHY/BIO and any humans (not just literature but also history, econs...) . There is no pre-requisite for taking humanities at A level. Hence, if she chooses art stream, she is free to pursue any humanities.
If your daughter takes a double science subj combination, such as maybe chemistry, physics, literature, geog, if she would like to pursue science stream, her second science can only be physics. VJC requires your daughter to know O Level bio knowledge to take it at a H2 level in JC, so in this case, your daughter would not be able to take Bio.

Hence, for maximum flexibility, students are recommended to take triple science. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Generations of Cedarians had walked from the bus stop to the school and in the years before the MRT station was built, walked across the cemetery on a daily basis without much fanfare or worries. I guess if potential students aren’t even able to tahan this small challenge, they probably don’t have “it”.

IKR! Never heard my DD complain about 4 years of walking. Rain or shine also walk cos we don't ferry her much at that time. btw, they don't walk across the cemetery lah.

Nowadays no more cemetery lah. In my time and the time of my peers. That’s why I say Pre-MRT station days :rotflmao:
Hi Floppy and Zeemimi! Long time no see.

My DD going Cedar too. 🙂 Are your DDs still there?

Hi. Mine still a few years from secondary school 😂

There’s also the ‘small’ issue of her meeting CGSS future COP, whatever that may be.
