Hi, just maybe, when the child works backwards (from her goal), she figures that she would want to score better in order to qualify for that goal?

Perhaps the school or Teachers have given some feedbacks... to improve on the subjects.

?... I've never heard kids' teachers recommending tuition. In fact, they often reiterate: stay focused in class, revise your work (eg. reading through teachers' feedback in the marked assignments), & approach the teachers if still in doubt...
