The people in the know may not spend time in this particular thread, in this particular forum. Usually your child's coach, or your network of football parent kakis would know. Have you asked around there?

The next best source (if they're willing to reveal) is the school itself. Here are the requirements listed on their website: https://tanjongkatongsec.moe.edu.sg/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Direct-School-Admission-website-info_2019-1-April.pdf

I am not sure whether they accept players from private clubs. But you can call/email the teacher to find out. Also how many they interviewed/offered CO/WL this year.

        Hi nms1,

maybe get your son to call this football Cca Tr in charge.

        Come to Secondary school journey,
Teachers prefer students to take charge of their own life and demonstrate ownership of responsibility in their Cca activities and in their own studies planning.

Secondary school Teachers prefer students to ask them questions directly if they have any question.

From TKSS school website, find out who is this Cca Tr-in-charge of football email address, can get your son to write an email directly to this Tr-in-charge, using his own personal email account, to express his strong keen interest in football and ask if he can possibly join in the team. Wait for email response, from this Cca Tr in charge.

If the football Cca Tr-in-charge, upon seeing your son so interested in football, this Tr can help to arrange for the coach to assess your sonโ€™s football skill

I guess my question was, do they generally bring in enough to complete a whole team via DSA or only a small number. Given their strength in football, I assume it's closer to the former?
TK Sec football coaches are well-known figures in the local football scene. If your son is playing since K2, and I assumed for an established club since his primary school doesn't seem to have a football team, his coach would probably know them. It shouldn't be too difficult for his coach, if he's tuned in to the local school scene, to know who are the players being lured by the school.

That said, football is a large team sport. Each C (or B) div team is largely made up of 20 to 30 players. There is no way a school can and will bring in that many via the DSA process. While DSA players are expected to be the 'key' players, it's really down to the individual's attitude and skillsets that determine whether they make it to the playing team.

I am thinking of subscribing inspire magazines. Anyone knows will the school subscribe the magazines for Sec 1 level?

Does anyone know if a boy coming in not through DSA has a chance to get into the football team? My son applied but didn't even get an interview. He has been playing since K2.
Its not easy getting into TKSS football team . My son couldnt get into TKSS football team even though he has been playing football since he was 2 years old and he represented his primary school football team which won the national championship.
From what I understand, they only offer DSA trials to school team players.
The teacher in charge of football is Mr Soh.
