Based on info shared by parent SG_KP1, from the 2020 A-level batch results, one can deduce that

1) number of JAE (O-level) students intake, at River Valley High, in Year 2019

= 435 - 379

= 56 RV JAE students

2020 saw the largest cohort of students from River Valley High School sitting for the GCE A-Level Examination. A total of 435 students, comprising 345 students from our six-year integrated programme, as well as 90 students, our inaugural group, admitted at JC1 via Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE).

We would like to congratulate the class of 2020 for continuing to exemplify our school’s values and spirit. They have achieved a stellar set of results at the 2020 GCE A-Level examinations. In summary,
· 97.5% of the cohort scored at least 3 H2 passes including a pass in General Paper. 98.5% of our 4H2 students attained at least 4H2 passes including a pass in General Paper.
· 48 students achieved at least 6 distinctions, with more than 1 in 4 students achieving at least three H2 distinctions.
· 19 students scored a perfect University Admissions Scores (UAS) of 90 rank points. More than 3 in 10 students scored at least 85 rank points.

Both Dunman High (IP) & River Valley High (IP) started taking in JAE (O-level) students, their pioneering first batch in 2019, took pioneering A-level in 2020

Based on info shared by parent SG_KP1, from the 2020 A-level batch results, one can deduce that

1) number of JAE (O-level) students intake, at River Valley High, in Year 2019

= 435 - 379

= 56 RV JAE students

2) number of JAE (O-level) students, at Dunman High, in Year 2019

= 73 DHS JAE students

RVHS release says there were 90 JAE students taking 2020 A Levels.

My guess is DHS JAE is also around 90-100. The DHS Sec 1 cohort has been just over 300 the last two years (2019, 2020 S1s). So I think the difference between 2019 A Level cohort and 2020 A Level cohort probably underestimates the JAE intake (i.e. S1 cohort size has been trending down).

It’s funny.

Let’s do a Y-O-Y comparison. Then make a sweeping statement that it’s comparable to mid-tier JC. BUT, from beginning to end, there wasn’t a comparison or even to provide the basic / average / sample stats of a mid-tier JC. Frankly, it’s not worthy of a reply or rebuttal.
