Depending on which part of Toa Payoh estate, there is a 151 n 151E (xpress) which goes directly to the school alight at the bus stop along clementi road after dover road. 151 can be catch outside Toa Payoh along the PIE bus stop

OPEN HOUSE 2022 (On Site and in person)


NUS High School open house will be held on Saturday, 21 May 2022, from 8am to 4pm. It will be on-site and no registration needed and all can visit. There will be Principal’s Talks throughout the day, and school tours and CCA groups and Parent Support Group booths.

Watch out for the school publicity material coming out soon.

NUSHigh is a 100pc DSA application school. It does not participate in the S1 posting exercise after PSLE.

for someone who does not have any Math Olympiad background, is it zero chance to get in NUSH ?


My son’s favorite subject is mathematic, he scored mostly band 1 for school Math exams (neighborhood school). He has been receiving MOE Academic Achievement award from Pri 1 to 5, got level best in Math for pri 4. It was only this year that he got some exposure to Math Olympiad as his school shortlisted him for the Raffles Institution Primary Mathematics World Contest 2022 (only sat for first round). I think those Olympiad questions look "alien"" to him and without the foundation and proper training, it was tough for him.

Pls correct me if I am wrong, i feel that all those who got into NUSH should be the Math/Science elites who are winners of Math Olympiad or at the very least received many years of training for Math Olympiad? Any case of children who is already in NUSH and got in purely based on school math/science exam results? Even if very luckily got in, wouldn’t it be very stressful for someone who has totally no math Olympiad background and start from the scratch? If I am not wrong the intake is around 100 plus only. I really wish that my son can get into a school that can nurture him for his interest in math and NUSH seems to be a very good one. However, is it too unrealistic for his case? Should I drop it or give it a shot? Am I wasting one of my 3 DSA choices? If he drop NUSH, he can DSA thru leadership in other schools. Your comment will greatly help me in my thinking process. thank you very much in advance.

NUSH is 1 of the 4 specialised independent schools cater for students with talent and strong interest in the domain. You may want to be objectively assess whether your child has talent and strong interest in math/ science.


My impression these 4 schools have tougher/more demanding curriculum than tradition schools. Students will need to be really passionate about that domain to see them through.

I would think the selection panel will look out for “sparks” in the eyes of the applicants :nunchuk:

It is also my impression that the child would have already decided on their career in those domains, to join these specialise school
