Singapore employment agencies and employers hiring Filipino domestic workers no longer need to submit a banker's guarantee and performance bond.

The performance bond is a requirement by the Philippine government to ensure that employers here comply with rules, such as providing medical coverage and paying salaries on time.

This was on top of the mandatory $5,000 security bond for all non-Malaysian foreign domestic workers in Singapore required by the Ministry of Manpower, which remains in place.[/i]
so, is this new change, better or worse ?

        I think this is good.
From the news, this performance bond imposed by Philippines govt is to ensure S'pore employers pay salary, medical coverage etc.
With the removal, i take it that Philippines govt is confident that S'pore employers will pay salary, medical coverage etc.

        What do you think?

I’m a first timer to hiring helper, so hoping to get some advice here regarding repatriation.

In our contract, it states that there is a notice period of 1 month by either party before the contract can be terminated.
For our case, both parties are agreeable to ending the contract.

My family is intending to repatriate our helper without her knowing.

So how could we hide our intention during this 1 month notice period ?
Would there be any precaution that we should take ?

Also went through the MOM site on repatriation. Seems like there is a lot more paperwork than I had thought:
          - Downloading of Vaccination HealthCert via Notarise
          - present a negative RT-PCR test result taken within 48 hours of departure
          - obtained travel insurance for COVID-19 treatment costs with a minimum coverage of USD 35,00
          - fill out the OneHealthPass (OHP) Health Declaration Form prior to checking in at the airport
          - ensure that helper is fully vaccinated

Can someone help to shed some light ? My helper is from Philippines.

Hi, my dad had passed on last week and he is the employer of the maid. I would like to continue her service to take care of my mum. Could anyone advise on how should the transfer process be? Thanks.

Hi my agent told me myammar helper salary is calculated differently from the MOM guidelines. For eg if maid salary is 602, each off day under MOM guideline should be calculated as 602/26=23.15. However they told me need to round off to 24 for each off day. If this is the case i will have to pay $61 extra for 1 off day for 24 months. Hence i would like to ask if we really need to round off the helpers salary as MOM salary calculation did not round off as well?

So sorry for yr loss & responding late.

Just apply with her particulars & yours using MOM online. No need previous eyer’s consent in this case, just so long as helper willing to change h’hold/eyer since he’s yr demised dad. Purchase FDW insurance (can visit NTUC Income website to choose a package). Medical can do at GP or SATA.

Feel free to pm me anytime.

Rubbish. Rounding off shld not be more than $1 margin.

Use MOM calculator which applies to all under FDW guidelines. You can call up MOM to confirm.

Hi Estéema, really appreciate for your response. As my brother is the sponsor, he needs to apply for exemption from EOP (Emploers Orientation Programme) before my mum can apply online.

                    Thanks.

If yr brother was the sponsor, he does not need the EOP, unless u mean yr mum is taking over as eyer. She can do online EOP. It’s very str-fwd, unless she can’t read English, you can read every details & get her to u’stand/acknowledge. Transferring within family members shld be quite clean w/o dispute but best everyone in family aware & agree incl the helper in the transfer process. Let me know if there’s anything else u need to know.
