Umm... I actually understand Malay somewhat, having spent my childhood playing with the horde of Malay kids in my neighborhood. But I keep quiet about it until I hear some people gossiping about me
LOL! Malay language is not a bad language to have. It is actually very powerful if he's keen on public/govt affairs and maybe a career in politics
I'll shoot them the evil eye

During my NS, there were Chinese fluent in Malay and Malays fluent in Mandarin.

In the end, everyone spoke English and kept gossiping to a minimal (since they can’t gossip secretly in any native language. Hahahha) -
Does anybody know for schools with NA and NT, do they mix the express, na, NT students together in a class? According to SBB? Thanks

Depends on which school. Check this list:

My personal opinion is your choices are risky. There is a high possibility of her getting 5th or 6th choice.
Hi my dd got 14M her choices are as below:
1. NCHS 12(D)
2. TKGS 13
3. TKSS 14
4. St Joseph Covent 14
5. St Hilda sec 15
6. Geylang Methodist 15
Do u think she has a chance to go TKSS if the first 2 fails? Thanks
For TKSS, she is right at the COP, and at choice 3, she will lose out to those kids who put TKSS at choice 1 and 2. Same for St Joseph.
Unless you can find out last year ballot happened at which choice.
Good luck! -
Hi fellow parents,
In relation to the Math paper scores, do pardon me to disagree a little with the part “a lot of children is affected”.
If I may use a pseudo-stat (very rough estimate), I have a parents group chat consisting of around 60ish parents of the P6 cohort in DD’s school.
From that group, so far I knew 1-2 parents intended to have review over the Math paper, which means roughly less than 2%.
However, this is only DD school and some friend’s son/daughter ‘s schools thus I do not know the true number as well.
I did not have the intention to prevent anyone to stop appealing for his/her mark though, just trying to express my opinion here. -
Advice please. My girl got 13pts. Her choices are as follows:
1. TKGS (13)
2. St Theresa Convent (13)
3. Katong Convent (15)
4. St Joseph Convent (14)
5. Xinmin (14)
6. Holy Innocent (15)
Is that quite safe? She wants TKGS. St Margs was another one she wanted but she didn’t make the COP (11) -
Hi fellow parents,
My DD got AL7 with HCL Distinction. We are SC. May I ask if the choices below are safe:
1. NYGH
2. MGS IP
3. SCGS IP
4. NJC
5. RVHS
6. SNGS (or Nan Hua)
Her preference is to go for independent schools. NJC seems more focused on Maths and Sciences, while my DD is stronger in languages.
SNGS is far away from our home. We live in the West. RVHS is nearest by distance. Appreciate for your kind advice. Thank you. -

I do agree with you. It seems like a lot because it’s only those that have issues have raised it but I believe they are all from different schools. I think the % is likely not alot. Plus, those who improved would probably not come out to say their kid’s math improved from AL5 to AL1/2 or even those who maintained their prelims.

But I do understand why they are upset and would like to appeal. Hopefully it also helps to give them closure even if there’s no adjustments done in the end. At least they’ve tried.
