I dont think we need to worry for those aiming for Law/Med/Dentistry. If need be, I am sure these kids can swallow sword or spit fire in order to stand out from the rest.

So we can assume that there will be many RP70s applying for other courses like Bis Ad, Accountary etc.? The Indicative Grade Profile (IPG) will then become AAA for half the local Uni courses? So what’s next? Conduct balloting for sought after courses that do not conduct interviews?

Minister Chan has to look into creating more vacancies for popular courses I guess, if not, we will still be back to square one. After all UAS is for universities admission and we do not wish to introduce other selection criteria for university admission. Otherwise, remove stress from doing away with one content heavy subject but add stress by not having sufficient places in local universities
Maybe Biz Ad requires AAA but not Accountancy. I think in recent years the requirement for Accountancy has somewhat reduced quite a bit which runs contrary to my time, at least AAB otherwise no talk.

Is A-Level on a bell curve? If it is, then don't need to worry too much about more kids scoring straight A.

I thought we already know the answer?

All results being constant, the ones who can do 变脸 will be admitted first, the sword swallowers second and the fire breathers third.
To one-up those pesky 变脸 practitioners, I'll tell my kid to swallow sword, breathe fire, walk on his hands, all at the same time! 😆

I also think that removing mid-year exams may not be a good idea - don't the students need some practice? I hope teachers are still allowed to set timed tests for allow students to practise under exam constraints, just to provide student feedback.
I think this is a real concern, especially for the IP kids who may not have that much practice in the first place, having skipped O-Level.

TBH, I did :rotflmao: I had also benefited from doing pure physics and double math for my O.

In JC, I was wondering why everyone was so busy and complaining about the A Level / workload. GP was a killer though. Most difficult subject for me and I couldn’t study for it, even if I wanted to 😂
GP isn’t that difficult if your teacher told u the right formula. Basically just give the For and Against, then sum up with your opinion and why u lean towards For or Against. And i’m pretty sure you’re up to date on political and other general knowledge issues, and can wax on about them. A1 there u go.

A1 now, maybe, but it was C5 then :rotflmao:
My angmoh was bad (is still bad) but I am just glad I didn’t have to attend that dreadful English class in university for students who didn’t score B3 (or was it B4) for GP and didn’t clear the internal English exam.

A reason that I probably didn’t have much of an interest in GP was due to the tutor. She managed to make F Math far more interesting than GP and that’s really something 😂

Those kids still have regular exams in schools right? Schools are are allowed to conduct not more than 1 WA per subject per term. I guess that would count as some sort of practice.

The key is relevant skills/experience. Unless he applying to theatre studies…so if want Medicine, maybe he go overseas do some humanitarian medical aid is better…

You can’t do medical aid if you don’t really have medical background leh.

How about performing to humanitarian relief efforts so as to reduce the aid workers and survivors level of stress, suffering and bringing back some humanity to their situation? Does that count?

It’s the LinkedIn generation, I’m sure they can think of something to smoke.

WA is short duration test held during the curriculum hours for that particular subject.

Eg: WA Maths 1h+ versus JC Maths exam which require 3h practice.

I would think the only time for a full paper practice would be EOY or prelim exam.
