It seems due to BMAT score or one of the section in BMAT was done well.
No he has not. NUS stated they will only notify after closing date. But for NTU’s LKC school, some of his classmates were notified to attend its MMI.
Yup. It is a great feeling to be selected but it can be very unfortunate when you don't get selected at the end.
Personal statement if Any, references and MMi are all important factors.
Good luck for your child -

Not sure if the UCAT for UK is same for NTU. Like BMAT, NTU had specific date that you take. A bit disadvantage for gals as they have to take in the midst of As.
Has anybody/DS/DD taken UCAT before? I read that you receive your results on the spot. Can share your experience?
UCAT is needed for some unis in UK. Most students who don't take H2 bio will have to take UCAT.
Yup. UCAT results are immediate... easy or not, I can't say as it was taken by my child -

There are around 200 returning docs every year. Overseas uni places are competitive as well. There are disadvantages such as residency, conversion. If you do overseas, IMHO is that you don't come back till u get consultant status which means you forgo any grants.
Hi,
Is there any diff for a doc who grad from local
Uni vs one who grad from overseas uni (of course one that is recognized by MOH)? I’m asking this in terms of both working in a public hospital upon graduation.
For local, guys tends to have some disadvantage due to NS liabilities when it comes to residency. But I do believe that you seek what you want, you still could get it but a longer route.
Medicine as a course is very different from others in the way they teach, play and tests.. -

I totally get where you're coming from with this statement.

Joining a medical degree is very competitive but possible. It seems like the preparation has to start early as there are many tricks on https://www.testpapersfree.com/view.php?id=15. Especially getting into Duke NUS is for graduate students only and with some help you can learn to find out https://www.testpapersfree.com/view.php?id=42

Has anyone been notified of NUS interview already?
-
My gal received interview invite for NTU medicine but not NUS. Many of her friends have not received from NUS yet
-
My gal told me students are selected for interview based on RP. Is this true? I remember I read from somewhere that students with 90 rp were not invited for interview in past years

Having an exceptional RP score is good and stand a high chance but there are other criteria that you must fulfill too. Example your personal report, referees and portfolio must be honest and justified. Besides many other factors are in play from year to year. I can only quote \"LUCK\" and you are considered very lucky to get selected to study medicine as it's one of the very competitive course.

I would like to share one of my thread that I have chatted earlier herein about \"LUCK.\"
Here's my thread: -
\"It's good to have all the requirements and criteria vying for a chance to study medicine. But times and again many excellent applicants still not successful to get into medicine. When you don't get shortlisted or unsuccessful after interviews, just don't be despaired but try to improve on your chances and try again in the next rounds of admission.
If you will get a chance to be shortlisted for an interview, whether you will be accepted after the finalization depends on \"luck\" at play at the medical school's side and yours too.
\"Luck\" means what the medical school is looking for at that specific year of admission requirements. You see yearly total intake only admitting 500 students. NUS medicine only takes roughly 300 students, NTU 140 students and DUKE NUS 60 students. This is only part of the competition, they also need to look into Genders, Races, Academic inclination, Distinctive mental and moral qualities. I think quota allocation was also set for taking in \"A\" Level students from various JCs, IB schools, Polytechnic and those applying through ABAS respectively.
There are many excellent students vying for such a limited seats. So it will be \"Luck\" if you get to be accepted. Just look at those vying through their university with DUKE NUS (A post-graduate medical school) pathway for medicine. So many students applied, may be shortlisted about 60 applicants for interviews and only about 15 of them being accepted on their \"conditional\" admission. So you see how \"Luck\" was evolving here. Likewise \"Luck\" is applicable for NUS and NTU as well.\"
Wishes you the best of \"Luck!\" -
NUS has started notifying selected candidates for interview. More will be call up in the next few days.
