oral exams

Hi.
Anyone haS info where to send the kid for oral speaking class? My P3 girl refused to open her mouth during oral exam. She said she is very shy.She attended speech and drama and public speaking class… . etc. and as she gets older she’s telling me she is shy. HELP!! -
Just a quick qn: Does she have older siblings or does she want to speak up on her own but not given chance to?
Older siblings tend to speak on behalf of the younger ones. It may start as being helpful since they say the younger one cannot "speak" but eventually it becomes a habit and the younger one will become used to it and give up speaking. After all, he/she has his/her very own spokesperson who understands him/her very well. So why bother speaking up at all?
Parents sometimes do this too, and it becomes a habit as well. This "grooms" the child into a very quiet person who doesn’t know how to express himself/herself with words, especially with strangers who can’t "read her mind" like her family can. -
Hi all
Anyone has a good way to prepare a child for oral exam as in exam base.
I know in the market, there is this cd rom that comes with a book that helps a child in preparing oral, not sure it works.
Also,I heard for p4 chinese oral, they revert back to the old system, anyone aware?thanks -

yes, my ds is also P4 there is a change in the chin oral. I understand from school that the reading part is very important, the marks weightage is high. Also for conversation (not sure for eng or chin) as i know is the children need to give his/her view on the things and able to have a conversation with the examiner. I always tell my ds oral must score as high as possible. His English oral is not an issue as he did his UK LAMDA exam.

My son’s classmate’s tuition teacher mentioned that MOE is allowing some form of autonomy to schools, to decide their chinese language format. To what extent it would be different, we would not know as it’s school-dependent. Example, many schools introduced Show-and-Tell, coupled with the conventional listening comprehension…
My son’s school did that…and that made the book on oral preparation which I bought from Popular useless!
We need to know what format our children’s schools are adopting.
